the sad thing is, most of these people are already like 20-27 year old adults

at least the people who drew shitty animu sonic OCs back in the day were just teenagers doing it for fun and not for "social justice"

You can usually tell the intent by looking at their blog and seeing what their personality and attitude is. If they're super into social justice and representation insist their headcanon is truth then it wasn't just for fun.

I respect people who draw weird art for some fucked-up fetish they have and don't have some absurd political overlay about it more than this gross tumblr shit that is apparently just ugly for the sake of ugliness. The "social justice" aspect does nothing except send the strange, perverse message that "underrepresented minorities" are foul, ugly creatures of some sort who all look like they have skin diseases and morbid obesity.
