I clipped the sections from the hearing featuring Alex. He really took a beating.

Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) criticizes Caraballo for perpetuating misinformation.

If they had contacted me I could have sent them a whole list of Alex's misinformation from just the last few months.

Does he even know how these things operate? Did he even look it up? Each side puts forward witnesses, who get to testify, then they're essentially cross examined by the other side (or the other side uses their question time to make autistic speeches of their own disguised as questions).

Then much as with court testimony, you get something like redirect, which was what came at the end.

Most of these things are colossal bores. Thanks Al for giving us one of the exceptions.

The fact that he's an attorney, and at least in theory has been trained how to handle these situations, makes the whole shitshow even more deliciously ironic.

Alex has never practiced. He's only ever worked in "LGBT" clinics where on his LinkedIn he described the only legal work he did was getting name changes for people.

Has he? Technically he isn't, he's a clinical instructor.

Alex is careful to be specific but journalists are not, Taylor Lorenz and others have called him a Harvard Law professor many times.

What I'm just not realizing is how clever this could have been on Mace's part, not only was this devastating to the eunuch Callabaro but to the entire narrative and purpose of these hearings.

Not to fawn over politicians or oversell this but is it Mace's intention to crash this plane(Oversight Committee) with no survivors?

This happens a lot on these committee hearings, nobody actually cares about them including the Congresspeople but I'm sure when this was brought to Mace's attention (Mace does seem to actually use Twitter herself so she may be vaguely familiar with Alex too) she made sure to be there and have the tweets put on an easel. Usually, they'd probably just ignore the hearing because it's irrelevant but if there's a chance for something like this they take it. From the other side of the aisle see any of AOC's brave and stunning girlboss lectures of witnesses that go viral but mean nothing.
