There is the sort of journ-bullshittery where they're saying that because you could do some sleuthing with publicly available information that it isn't doxxxing, but that's not the definition we've been living with for the past decade. The definition non-journos have had to live by is that a dox is basically any information a person wanted private like their real name, the current location, work history and so on. The journos are getting into a huff over having to follow their own rules.
