Anthony Fantano / TheNeedleDrop - "The Internet's Busiest Music Nerd"™, heelturned since 2017, slowly becoming smug SJW, threw Sam Hyde under the bus

How cucked do you have to be to put that shitty Rihanna song in your "Best tracks of the week"?
I don't think praising shitty songs, made in a corporate meeting to be as generic as possible will get your neegress of a wife back Anthony.
Shit sounds like a default Android alarm tone.View attachment 3781408

I haven't watched that video and I'm not going to but I know what he's talking about in the vid and he's right. Even a retarded clock is right twice a day.

When vinyl records stopped selling they were phased out of production and all the major labels destroyed their manufacturing facilities because they're expensive to maintain and take up a lot of space. The only places still pressing records were small indie labels and they were pressed in small batches. There were a few popular bands who pressed their albums to vinyl but it was still mostly done as a novelty and in much lower quantities than CDs.

For various reasons vinyl has become really popular again over the last few years and Taylor Swift outsells everyone by a huge margin. Even Target and Walmart have vinyl albums on store shelves again. Vinyl is outselling CDs for the first time since the 80s. It's not just Taylor Swift. Billie Eilish, Harry Styles and Adele are moving tons of units too. Every band is. The girls buying up T Swift and H Styles will buy the same album five or six times because they're pressed in various colors and they want to collect them all. I don't even think they listen to them, they just like to take pictures of the records and hang them on their wall.

You could easily make an argument that Taylor Swift is ruining vinyl because the pressing facilities are working full capacity to press her albums, creating a huge backlog and wait time for the independent artists who have been supporting the industry for years when everyone else forgot about them. On the other hand it's made record collecting very popular again, raising the prices of vinyl to crazy highs and labels are starting to reissue older stuff on record again.

You know what I love about Ariel Pink? He's eccentric and has had some lolcow moments in the past, but he continues to make music cause he genuinely loves that medium of art. He doesn't let the idpol predditors "cancelling" him over his wrongthink, he just brushes it off amd keeps doing what he loves. Unlike Fantano, who became a militant shill for Rainbow capitalist/SJW narratives cause some fat pink haired landwhale got upset over a very obviously satirical video he made. And while i'm not a huge Kanye fan, I respect him for essentially doing the same as Ariel Pink, enthsiastically making music and doing what he loves in spite of MSM hit pieces.

(Gonna powerlevel a bit here, but as a musician myself I have the same philosophy as people like Kanye and AP: I don't make it to please anyone, I do it cause I love music and take pride in creating art that is entirely and uniquely my own. Something people like Fantano will never understand, because his "expertise" is entirely based on nitpicking little things he doesn't like as opposed to taking influence from what he does like and creating art of his own.)

Haha holy shit I just remembered.
I watched his video "Worst Songs of My Adolescence" around a year ago, and one of the songs on there was "Why Don't You Get a Job?" by The Offspring. He was complaining about a lot of shit but what made me laugh was how he, a YouTube Content Creator, was complaining about how getting a job is 'patronizing'.
Kind of ironic.

Theres a retardedly obvious double standard when it comes to lyrics in white music vs black music and the bald faggot perpetuates it. I don't read music reviews anymore but I doubt it's changed much in the last ten years. Lyrics written by white men get broken down and analyzed under the most powerful virtue signaling microscope. Journalists will complain about violence, misogyny, white supremacy and, in this case, supporting a capitalist power structure.

A black rapper can (and literally always will) rap about slapping women, raping sluts, killing pussy niggas and laughing at the broke boys. If a hood nig said "get a job broke nigga" Fantano wouldn't dare criticize it. He'd say it's brave. Nobody is trying to cancel every single rapper for misogynistic lyrics that promote violence but they get incredibly worked up on the rare occasion a white singer says something even slightly problematic.

It goes deeper than music reviews. It's pretty much the entire internet. Like if you're watching shitty reels on Instagram and you find one of a white toddler having some type of breakdown or raising his voice slightly. The comments will be full of virtue signaling white folk who probably don't have children writing stuff like "this is a sign of bad parenting and filming it will give him severe personality disorders that will affect him his whole life. Parents like you make me sick!!" It will be hundreds of comments like that.

But if it's the same scenario with a black baby - or even a far more violent video, which tends to be the case, the comments are "lol boys will be boys" and "so cute. Reminds me of my nephew!!!"

If you don't believe me start scrolling reels and you'll quickly see I'm right. But at this point it's probably common knowledge to anyone with an IQ higher than 100 and we just have to pretend everything is haha just fine.

His standards do seem low enough:

Case in point: Tyler the creator gets positive reviews with lyrics like:

I'm the type to put you down to bring myself up
So when I rape a bitch I hold her down and get my best nut

and gets praised, meanwhile a korean guy makes a song lightly roasting women over scott pilgrim and Fantano goes on a twitter spree about how horrible/misogynist and incel it is.

To be fair, I think Anthony is a fucking idiot and thinks the dude is white.

That was a Pimp C lyric first. From Sippin On Some Syrup with Three 6 Mafia released in 2000. You'd think Fantano would have picked up on that but I guess he's even more retarded than I initially thought.

That's what an actual music nerd would pick up on but we're talking about a spineless grifting faggot instead.

I'm sure he'll hop onto the next gravy train genre in the next five years and act like an authority for it.

I made this exact same comparison when explaining Taylor Swift's vinyl sales to someone the other day.

The bright side is that these crazes don't tend to last. The bottom has completely fallen out of the (American) comic book market, and it's probably only a matter of time before the same happens, if in slightly less dramatic fashion, to vinyl. I don't foresee CDs ever outselling vinyl again, but these vinyls with five or six different variant colors, a limited picture disc, several different covers and so on released along with the standard edition are probably not going to be a thing clear on into the future. There's only so many times you can sell five albums to someone who probably doesn't even own a turntable and just wants to flex on Instagram. Imagine these people who bought five copies of Taylor Swift's Midnights and now have them hanging on their wall. What are they gonna do when the next Taylor Swift album comes out? And the next one? What, are they gonna end up with Taylor Swift vinyls covering all the walls in their apartment? I see this variant trend lasting 2, maybe 3 more years before dying out completely.

Already some of the smaller labels I follow are having trouble selling off their limited variants as opposed to just the standard black editions (usually these sized labels make only one, maybe two variants of their releases, if any). At the same time, some of these labels are running into production backlogs of several months. I get how annoying that can be, and a lot of it is the fault of these larger artists and their 15 variant editions, but hopefully at some point these labels will wisen up and knock this comic book variant cover bullshit off. It's not like the people who are actually interested in the music will refuse to buy the records if they only come in a regular black vinyl release.

I have another theory that explains why Swift, Adele and Eilish are selling so many copies. I picked up on it when I went to a store that sells Target return products and there was a huge stack of Adele records that had been opened but looked brand new. I looked at a few copies up close because I was going to buy one for a gift and they were pristine and looked unplayed.

So why are so many girls buying, and returning Adele records? It's because they're playing them on horrible record players from brands like Crosley and Victrola that don't work properly. They're made as cheaply as possible, and cut so many corners that it can actually mess up your record by applying too much pressure. They frequently aren't balanced correctly (and don't have an adjustable counterweight) so it causes the vinyl to skip and jump. Girls think their record is broken and they return it for a new copy so now that's two albums sold instead of just one. Repeat that times a million.

To be fair, while those players are ass, the disc shouldn't skip unless the manufacturer didn't remaster the record properly (too much of any frequency can destroy a disc), a real possibility since most modern releases are mixed/mastered for digital with vinyl being an afterthought.
Fun fact: Taylor Swifts fans are so inept at record players, they played her albums at the wrong speed and review bombed it.

Pitchfork is also one of the worst examples out of this one. In the last few years, most of their Best New Music reviews has subtle hints towards liking progressive gay/lesbian musicians while rap music gets praised for its anti-whiteness. If it’s not Kendrick Lamar, then it’s Haim. If it happened to be Bon Iver, it will still get a barely passable review while having a critic check a musician like him for talking about his “white privilege” or something along those lines.

Shooter wasn't lightly roasting, he hit the nail on the head perfectly in that song and that is why hoes got exceptionally mad. Great track, great artist. He also reacted right away when Fantano was shit-talking him, i respect that.
