Honestly, something that I think is a big part of autogynephilia and autoandrophilia is the fact that it's pretty common for people to have friend-groups that are single-gender, especially when they're younger... and when there's no one of the opposite gender around to correct your assumptions, things can get really fucking weird. In hindsight this makes perfect sense why 30% of the girls I knew from high school have officially trooned out (that I know of), and at least another 20% identify as some other flavor of queer. It was an all-girls private school in peak 2013 tumblrgender era so chances are you were either really into activism, gay and into anime, or just regular run of the mill attention seeking crazy.

The most well adjusted ones that came out of this were the girls who played competitive school sports, and I remember those people were the only ones who had stable boyfriends.

Back then, there were two, maybe three instances of girls trooning out, and they left the school probably out of their own choice. No word on whether the school allows trannies in 2022. They were quite conservative in values, so maybe they’ll hold the line using private money from rich TERFs.

Here’s something thread-relevant, since unfortunately I haven’t yet found anyone sperging out about getting rejected from a girl‘s school for having a penis.

This is one revisionist cope that is particularly fucked up. Convents were a place to get rid of unwanted daughters. It was very frequently not a choice made by an adult woman, or even a teenager. Kids would be dumped there as toddlers or even infants, if the parents didn't know what else to do with them or died.

Despite the precautions and strict regulations on who was allowed to enter a medieval nunnery, a variety of women became active religious. In large families often the younger girls were raised to enter the nunnery as a career or vocation. I'm not sure if this is true revisionist or just an extrapolation from stories that came out of convents in the modern era. Seems like you can have a convent as a place for 'tards and widows and also end up with some non-rapey lesbians, even if it's situational homosexuality. Forward to the future, when the spinsters, widows and orphans have options other than the convent, and people assume the current lesbian-rich demographic was the same backwards through history.

Lesbian nuns who bailed after Vatican II found publishers for their memoirs; hundreds of years earlier, you'd have to go to a lot of effort to make a lasting record of your "particular friendship," way too much effort for you not to stop and realize it was a bad idea to self-incriminate.

I knew a lesbian ex-nun; she said she'd initially felt called to be away from the world, among women. Being in a nursing home kind of worked out like that for her, too.

Nurses have lot of work to do and when they hear you screaming, but you can manage to do it in your put-on troon voice, it lets them know that you are not actually in enough pain to abandon the act.

They see people in horrendous states all day long, and you are a total annoyance, AND you piss them off and negatively effect the experience of other people the whole rest of their shift by putting them in a foul mood, and turning their opinions of certain sects of patients in general

Someone I know who went to a posh, all girls school and left round about 2007?

in her day it was all eating disorders. there was like a school wide sort of...competitive bulimia going on.
some people very serous, hospital stays, life threatening, others not so much but wanting to compete nontheless
she has finally, at the age of 30something gotten over it. It took a long, long time though. And it wll always be a factor thats ready to loom back up if there are other stressors in life.

Not so lucky some of the rest of them.
the hermione girl from Harry Potter went there, and the last picture i saw of her she looked like a fucked up scarecrow.

so this is just the next stage of posh girl neuroticism.

and the physical effects will be even more long lasting. Will there be people falling off the wagon, de-and re-trooning every few years for the rest of thier adult lives? Will it be like alcoholics and drug addicts, worriedly spotting the clues in frineds, that hint to a full on relapse? "oh, her hair's looking a bit short, i spotted him coming out of Claires Accessorise...'

Are we gonna have to put up with dribs and drabs of this for the next few decades? I had hope that this would be fucked of and over wth some degree of finality....like any other trend. But i suppose it wont. It will be around in its victims, the same way self harm scars stay, for the rest of their lives.
And so, residually, in everyone else's.

I'll have to ask some of my friends who teach in (normal, non private) high schools what the gender situ is now. its probably just about safe to do that, as I would consider 2022 to be the Year of The Low Key Peaking.

But yeah, private / single sex schools are often canaries in the coal mine / intense microcosms of social issues. Not exactly sure wether its more to do with the madness that single sex spaces imbues in its occupants, or good old have a too comfortable life and need to invent my own problems in order to feel validated in my angst.

Or ,what percentage mix of both elements.

Based on what I've personally seen, I think you may be right, in some ways.

I've heard anecdotes that taking testosterone has a serious mood-boosting effect in the early days. I've heard one person describe it as a 'serious rush'.
I've heard about girls who stopped taking the 'mones, then months later they went back on just to feel emotionally happy again. I've heard people compare it to 'upper' drugs.

...but I know one girl who experimented with the hormones, then stopped taking them and started looking like a girl again, and then she got a boyfriend, and she says that 'cured' whatever was pushing her to want to troon out.
She says it was caused by a misdirected autoandrophilia.

Although I guess dating won't fix everyone, because I knew another troon that wanted to go berserk and inject herself with steroids after she broke up with an abusive boyfriend. (She was also an autoandrophile.)
The first girl also told me that she took psychedelics, and that helped her figure out what was making her want to troon...... but the second girl was fucking addicted to weed, and she still was deep in the tranny mindset.

So, different strokes for different folks.
People have to figure out how to live their own fucking lives. The most you can do is help.

I've also heard of other random autoandrophiles dating and sleeping with guys, but it doesn't seem to automatically 'cure' them of their need to play retarded gender games.
The first girl told me she had already partially figured out what was going on in her head, before she even started looking for a guy.
