I have no doubt that Chantal is learning a good deal about Honor Culture, and luckily for her, she is in a location where the laws and norms are a bit more relaxed due to the majority of people living in Kuwait are not Kuwaiti's. Chinny is pretty oblivious at the best of times, but there is no way that she is not aware of the side-eyes, frowns and snickers she receives from Salah's family and friends. And when it comes to Islam, people will not hesitate to tell her exactly how offensive some may find her larping. They will do it kindly and gently, until they realize that they are dealing with an idiot, and then they will treat her like a child and the teaching will become stricter. Especially since she is a woman, and an adult woman who does not comport herself in a proper way brings dishonor upon the family and tribe.
I suspect that Salah has told her it is not a good idea for her to wear the Niqab until she can control her mouth. Whatever the scam/plan may have been with this sham marriage, bringing dishonor upon Salah and his families name, will not fly. He already is at a disadvantage since he is not a Kuwaiti citizen.
Now be a good Muslim woman, Chantal, and get yourself to the women's tent so you can tend to other women's children. That is as close as you will get to being part of the tribe. Try to keep your braying voice down and for Allah's sake (pbuh) lose a few pounds so you can at least be useful. Right now you are merely another burden to women who are already very busy. If you insist on using Salah's last name, at least do not bring any more dishonor to it. Yalla!
