I'm looking for LPs/playthroughs played by people, who obviously know what they're doing, explain mechanics and what they're doing plainly, without going out on tangents and sound like they're having fun, not playing it up for the audience. Lack of facecam would be a plus and they absolutely can't be british (british accent makes me nauseous).

Before Force became an attention whoring, basic, face-in-every-video-thumbnail faggot, he used to make weekly MTG videos which showcased decks, where he explained his moves and tactics.

Michael Hendriks thoroughly explains his Factorio challenge runs, going as far as to use free mode to show probable scenarios, computations and risks he's taking.

Chase is a Souls PvP player and it's obvious he knows games' mechanics in and out. He does invasion streams (unfortunately he interacts with chat, but it's always on the topic) and weapon showcases and it's just pleasant to see someone skilled do things seemingly impossible for normal gamers.

I'd include Grant from GiantGrantGames in the list, but unfortunately he's a twitch streamer, so he's tainted by twitch "culture". He is skilled though.
Bushy is also a skilled Souls player, but he talks like a nigger, obviously has been raised in or near a ghetto. His videos are bearable if you manage to mentally mute his live reaction segments and only listen to voiceover where he manages to sound as White as he looks.

I'm looking for something like the above - purely focused on gameplay, mechanics, maybe some game lore if it's relevant. And they can't suck at the game they play. I've seen null's playthroughs and I've had enough of "POV of blind mongoloid tripping over ladders" gameplay.

First thing that comes to mind for me is Davaeorn, a youtuber (not sure if twitch streamer) who plays Baldur's Gate (as in the BG1/SoA/ToB trilogy).
That's whatever in and of itself cause the base game can be cheesed like crazy if you know what to expect ahead of time; however, this guy plays with SCS/Ascension mods, Insane difficulty, hardcore, no reloads, and still sometimes manages to clear the full game. The videos are really long and it's not all action, but he really knows what he's doing.

If you want fast paced roguelike type stuff, Veedotme has a lot of Dead Cells playthroughs and makes that game look far easier than it is - cruising through it on the hardest difficulty nearly every time. Again, his understanding of the game's mechanics is really strong. He does other games too, but his Dead Cells videos are his best.

Maybe you'll find one of those two interesting.

All of Lying Figure's Silent Hill loreplays are pure comfy small-time youtuber kino. He rarely breaks 300 views on any video but his playthroughs are the highest quality, most informative and comfy Silent Hill playthroughs on the big-eye Internet. His commentary is never obnoxious or reddit tier. He cuts in concept art when appropriate while explaining some of the lore, he hits every detail in every game. it's fucking awesome. Sadly he hasn't made any videos in 3 years. I hope he comes back one day.

GeminiLaser's LPs of Megaman 1-7 are some of my favorite youtube videos. He's got entertaining commentary, he practices the stages before he records himself, and he does a good job of showing off all the special weapons in ways that aren't just "use it on the boss that is weak to it". He really made me think about how I approach Megaman games, and has been a source of comfy viewing for a long time. His first couple LPs aren't quite as good as his later ones, but are still worth watching. He also does at least one bonus video for every game that shows off stuff I never knew about the classic Megaman games. His GeminiLaser channel has been pretty inactive though. I wish he'd get around to 8 sometime, or just skip it and go straight to 9.

Currently watching his BG2 companion guide, I'm hoping for some tips on how to break the game. He looks like someone who's a Dungeon Master by trade.

1st episode and he's already dropping jokes about women being bad drivers and SH2 remaster director being a fucking retard, that's pretty based, too bad his channel is dead. It is kino.

Battlefield315 from Something Awful had that amazing Battlefield lets play from 13 years ago. It's a cozy lets play with 315 explaining the basics of the games and his overall approach to each match. The funny part is his calming voice as he utterly crushes it every single match. The first game he shows off, he ends with 25 kills and a single death. He almost always accounts for a fourth of the kills in his entire 16 man team. The D day episode his entire team is fucking around doing jack shit and he singlehandedly is holding off the entire invasion with a sniper rifle.

Not sure if it counts, but CarcinogenSDA's videos might be what you want? He focuses on no damage runs of Resident Evil games, but he does other things as well. He doesn't skip cutscenes and shuts up when they're playing.

I watched his Cyberpunk 2077 videos and enjoyed them, especially his sudden and unexpected rant all throughout one NPC's unskippable dialogue. Unfortunately modern survival horrors are boring as shit to play, let alone spectate and though no fault on his own, no amount of effort put in recording a gameplay of one is going to make them interesting.

maybe not exactly what you're looking for but this guy does ridiculous challenge runs of games, usually souls or elder scrolls, and does step by step guides on how he accomplishes them. there's usually text narration instead of a voiceover and the editing is very snappy and a bit meme-y which makes them a lot more entertaining even if you aren't very familiar with the game

Seconding this. The dude is also very entertaining on his streams and doesn't take himself seriously at all. Good watch.

Dark Souls was mentioned so I'll add LilAggy, I've grown to like him. He does a lot of stupid challenges in From games using randomizers and other program. It can be really fun when he realizes what a bad idea it was.

LordBBH is a small youtuber that does 1 credit clears on old arcade games. In some games he can be really informative. If you want to learn how to clear Super Gouls'n'Ghosts without dying even once he's your guy.
Is he a funny streamer/youtube? No, but OP didn't list that as a requirement.

I know of ymfah, his videos are really entertaining in the way he breaks the game. Great taste in music too.

LilAggy is the same type of thing as Bushy - screaming spastic screamer first, actual human bean second. He's more entertaining when it comes to his personality because he doesn't talk like a nigger, but Bushy seems more skilled.

Speaking of Souls content, I've also found Rusty. (with the dot at the end) who does more of ranking videos, however his look to be well researched.

They might all be meme runs but this guy knows his shit better than most serious speedrunners or whatever. He's shown the self-curated binders of cross-referenceable data he compiles for each game and they're huge (and I don't think it's a gag because I've seen him bitch elsewhere about the amount of independent verification etc he has to do due to unreliable shitwikis). And the completely custom bespoke game breaks he and his community will sometimes come up with to beat some stupid challenge that turns out to be otherwise impossible into submission are almost like a uselessly distinct category of competitive vidya autism in themselves.

I've only watched the cut down videos on youtube(10-12 hours cut down into 40 minutes) and I can't remember much screaming but I do remember his voice always turning into "small gay man" when maxed out.

That's pretty much the thing - his video clips are heavily edited, because as shit as youtube is, that kind of spastic faggot squeakers only thrive on twitch.

Ymfah is an actual legend, and you can only glimpse the sheer amount of patience and dedication he puts into his runs through the cracks. His "No Walking" run of Dark Souls 3 highlighted this when his save got fucked up by a random hacker, undoing a tremendous amount of grueling work.

Every time there's a lapse in his uploads, I think that he's at the end of a good run and surely he's out of ideas for videos, but the madman just keeps going.
