It's very subtle and mostly hinted at. But the MMO sequel has a proper lesbian in the first story expansion and all romances are bisexual since then.

Most of the starter npcs and companions are gonna be straight though but Bounty Hunter was my favorite class to play before they fucked up a lot of the class specs. Can't have flamethrower anymore god damn it.
I'm pretty sure all companions in the base game are straight (Kalyio maybe hits at being in a relationship with another woman but refuses to romance with a fem character and she's like super-BPD).
George Lucas wanted to tell a good story which is why you see all those crazy aspects and designs that Star Wars introduced for its time. Considering this was the 70’s I wouldn’t doubt they wouldn’t include a gay character out of either no interest or fear of production halt. Either way if Disney kept consistent with the legends instead of fucking up and making a piss poor canon, I wouldn’t doubt that a gay character would’ve been greatly written. Other than that, Disney is again piss poor at story telling now.
Fair point however I think she would’ve been better in a baseball movie. Considering how she used that lightsaber like one. I still think Finn should’ve been the main protagonist and Rey a more Jedi Leia.
I like Rey as a protagonist tho. It makes my inner 10 year old, who was always disappointed at how little action media had female protagonists, happy. Plus space white trash desert gremlin.
Don’t get me wrong she’s a good protagonist but for a Star Wars story I just don’t really feel it. They really tried hard to make the 2nd and 3rd movie in that series “Marvel”. If we’re talking about strictly women characters i did like Cara Dune played by Gina Carano in the Mandalorian, at season 3 though I quit especially after the Boba Fett shitstorm.
My incredibly unpopular opinion is that the ST trilogy was going pretty good until TROS. TLJ wasn't perfect, but I thought it was a good movie overall. TROS is where it got fucky.

Agreed. I expected full role reversal between Rey and Kylo. Instead we got an inferior mix of Dark Empire and Jedi Prince.
