That's what happens when the subject of a lolcow thread doesn't get into much drama. The only drama Doug got into this year is when Jacob Sheehan deleted his Youtube channel because CA disapproved of him reuploading their Twitch streams even though they never reupload the streams and just let them get deleted after 60 days. The funny stuff from this thread is from the seething Doug gets from remaining on the internet and making videos.

Honestly, I'd say that's probably a service since I'm not even sure if CA upload the highlights to YouTube. Back in the day, there were tons of reuploads that were left alone with all they have in the description with some degree of "I'm not Doug".

No, they don't upload the highlights to Youtube. They just leave everything on Twitch and do nothing as their old streams just disappear. Maybe it's a copyright thing, Maybe it has something to do with the Twitch Partner Agreement, or maybe they think the potential hassle of having another channel to put the Twitch streams on is not worth it. At least back in the day, they didn't upload the NC reviews was because Doug got his account deleted because of copyright strikes as well as it being difficult to become a Youtube partner in order to get ad revenue while on Blip they were already getting big money from ad revenue from Blip's $7-10 CPM.

Doug's embarrassed himself a handful of times (quitting his job, using the dragon dildo to frost a cinnamon roll at a con, framing a Tweet, killing off Nostalgia Critic and then bringing him back after failing miserably doing other stuff, marrying a 400 lb woman despite being internet famous).

Having said that, what I've always kind of admired about Doug is that, despite his average intelligence and irresponsible manchild streak, he's mostly stayed above the fray of internet drama and kept doing his thing. Doug has been able to tardrangle and put up with a bunch of maladjusted angsty drama kids and not respond to their behavior on their way out. He never really comments or responds to shots at him or CA or gets in drawn out fights with people.

He seems to be a guy who just wants to make videos above all else. Nostalgia Critic and its format is an outdated relic of about 15 years ago and CA by all rights should have folded by now, but Doug being able to stay above the fray has managed to keep it afloat. I'm sure he still makes a pretty good living, and I think most people in his position would have called it quits or failed by now. Good on him.

Two things about your lore:

1. The dildo was basically some panel using it to glaze I believe was a donut, left it behind and then Doug went “hey, free donut!” and ate it not knowing about what happened beforehand.

2. The framed tweet was if memory serves, a tweet from Roger Ebert himself praising the NC’s video on Siskel and Ebert.

Just wanted to give context.

And the other part about him is that there seems to be so much butthurt that the reaction to him isn’t universal hatred. And that he still gets views in 2022.

I’ll admit, one of the main thing I tend to hate about KF is a lot of times people are just willing to believe anything about a lolcow if someone just says they ”heard that x is actually” or “did you know that x reall” without any actual proof.

Happens a lot with a lot of the threads about minor/lesser lolcows.

It really does like when people believe DSP owed money to a escort. They just want to believe these outrageous stuff because it just makes the lolcow funnier and more pathetic. That's why people repeat the Doug got mad at Spoony for ripping his cape on the set of Kickassia as if it actually happened. It doesn't matter if it came from some random person on 4Chan with no one ever confirming that it actually happened except Lordkat who admitting to lying about it 2 years later. All that matters is if it confirms their perception of the person being a lolcow.

Another issue is people can be pretty cynical on the internet. Some people would rather go with the narrative Doug married his wife because her family is loaded than just accept the possiblity that Doug married her because he loves her. Some people just see the worst in other people so much so that they become misanthropic and just hate people in general.

And #ChangeTheChannel and the Indiegogo provided tons of reasons and opportunities to make stories and lies about Doug. And then Hocus Pocus. And then The Wall.
