"And the hippos were boiled in their tanks" Burroughs and Kerouac collaboration.
I liked it, but I thought there were moments where it's a little too clear Burroughs wants you to view his self-insert as a badass hardened criminal.

I started reading Demon Slave. It's a ecchi manga about a dude who got turned into a slave by a girl who fights against demons. It's good so far. I can recommend it if you like ecchi sort of stuff

Great news!

Norm MacDonald’s memoir is back on sale after being sold out for more than a year. I remember days after his death, his book was actually either sold out or scalpers were raising the prices for it.

Either way, I know what I’m reading during the holiday break. Get it while you still can.

I'll review it when I'm done with it, but I've been reading The Unincorporated Man and it's brilliant, one of the best books I've ever read.

The Lost World by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle for fiction. For Nonfiction I'm currently reading The Lost City of Z about a Victorian explorer who disappeared in the amazon looking for a supposed Lost City.

I'm not a teenager but still quite young. And I was recently diagnosed so the advice has been nice. :heart-full:

The audiobook is great because it’s narrated by Norm himself and has his dry delivery.

I’ve been reading Tokyo Vice by Jake Adelstein. Pretty good so far. Only Jewish journo I can stand.

It's the book "A Slow Death: 83 Days of Radiation Sickness". It also contains images. Imo interesting and fascinating.
All I ever learned from this (or Louis Slotin) is if you get a massive dose of ionizing radiation you'd best just say your goodbyes and shoot yourself. It will be better than what awaits you. Do not let the medical devils get a hold of you as a guinea pig.

There is just no chance of recovery when you receive that amount of radiation. Just end your life because you will suffer because all the regeneration in the body stops. You don't have a skin anymore at some point because no new cells get generated. And you'll be in such massive pain and no medication works because the body can't take in nutrition or anything. The digestive tract dissolves. It's a nightmare. Before it comes to that, it should be legal to assist with suicide with a legal injection.

But they won't let you have that. They'll use you for experiments because it's not often they get to do experiments on terminal radiation poisoning cases. Look at Ouchi (great name), almost three months of the most horrifying torture imaginable. An Islamic regime official torturer couldn't come up with shit that bad.

He wasn't really a guinea pig. Afaik, Japan doesn't have a "kill terminal ill people" law or is allowed to give assisted suicide. And his family didn't even sign a DNR-agreement because they believed he'll survive. So the doctor HAD to revive him when he died due to his heart giving up and they didn't really wanted to. They did everything to keep him alive because they weren't allowed to let him die by law.
