The more snippets I see from this autobiography, the more I’m convinced that James is a reptilian space creature trying to explain the simple actions of everyday life. The whole him transferring into high school midway convinced me of this sentiment, the way he explained the process of waiting for the bus read like if a space alien tried to give an evaluation of what it is like to go to a human high school.

Though his writing style is very jank and confusing when he is trying to make any sort of account of recollection of any event in his life. It is like a string of blog posts that have been just copy and pasted into a PDF. James probably can articulate it better in the audiobook which I am interesting in hearing. Probably going to listen to it during my coding sessions.

As well hearing about him reviewing the shining and somehow trying to make the connection that it is a Christmas movie somehow just demonstrates how creative bankrupt he is. Or how fucking lazy the slobs have needed up getting when trying to come up with story premises. James needs to find a better set of tard wranglers and a better writing staff, because he really lacks the ability to critically analyze what is being put in front of him currently. I can't believe that there's a 288 page (and going) thread about the AVGN on here. Admittedly, since I don't follow him, or most of the YouTube creators as closely as some of you fuckers apparently do, there's alot of "behind the scenes" drama and shit that I didn't really know about, but I really don't know if he deserves his own thread with people sperging over every little thing that happens.

For one, the entirety of pReddit is nothing but a cesspool filled with SJWs and tranny groomer faggots anymore. If there's a good niche subreddit that you find, rest assured that before long those fuckers will infiltrate it and make it all about themselves. They ruin literally everything that they become part of.

As far as James himself having a touch of the 'tism, that honestly doesn't surprise me at all. I've been watching his videos for years, and even called it out on one of his old AVGN videos back in the Screwattack days. Of course, that was back when you could say things on YouTube that weren't immediately shadowbanned like today. Bit of a PL here, but seeing the excerpts from his autobiography and the recent unscripted videos, and my past life in a relevant field of experience, I would almost certainly guarantee that he grew up with a moderate case of undiagnosed autism. There are certain "tells" that are characteristic of autism that he seems to display, sometimes even in the scripted AVGN videos. The fixated obsession on certain things (classic B horror movies, his kids, his "films") childish crude humor even into middle age, aversion to direct eye contact with someone else, especially when speaking, are all common traits in autistic people. It's just that back when he was in school, things like that simply weren't understood by very many people, and any kid who was "problematic" was often shoved into the "slow kids class" and didn't get the treatment that they need. That James has been as successful as he has been for as long as he has is a goddamn miracle, not just for someone on the spectrum, but for anyone as an Internet celebrity, really. That he comes across as "normal" for the most part in public appearances or unscripted videos is because he's learned masking very well. Even more impressive when you see the types of experiences and people that he deals with at events he attends. Seriously, it's like a mecca mix of basement dweller spergs and the worst of the comicon dweebs, and he's the golden calf that they all gravitate to like flies to shit. That'd make even the most well grounded person go off the deep end in short order.

And we all obviously know now that he's had alot of background help with the AVGN stuff. Mike Matei was obviously great at it, the fat fucks at Screenwave obviously don't get it, and just seem to be leeching off of him for their own personal gain. And we don't really know how much his wife helps or hurts in the grand scheme of things aside from the sausagefest comment a decade ago. Quality of the AVGN stuff has obviously suffered, especially in the last few years, but admittedly there's very few things like it that would even last as long as it has, let alone continue to find a sizable audience.
While obviously not the best episodes, the Vegas Stakes and Immortal episodes were pretty bold, as far as AVGN videos are concerned. Hell, I think the logistics behind doing the Immortal episode were amateur-tier brilliant, even if the episode itself was flat. I really can't fault the guy because in the end he's provided us years of free entertainment, and to my knowledge has stayed out of any real drama or tried to scam his fans like so many others.

Fat fuck pedo sympathizer Justin Silverman and tranny Ryan can go fuck themselves with red hot iron railroad spikes though.

It's this thing I notice about a lot of YT and Twitch faggots and the like: they can never admit that they have an easy job. Not once have I ever heard any of these motherfuckers say anything of the sort. Charisma is not hard to develop and looks can only get you so far. Work ethic is most likely out of the question because just look at how many hopefuls have been painfully trying to build up an audience for years without any returns to show for it


In short, if i had to describe this hypothetical complex it'd be as something like "Guilt over perceived undeserved/unearned success"

I want to preface this by saying I am the asshole that always says bitching Youtubers need to shut the fuck up and get a real job if they don't like it.

But if I was to give any credence to streaming/content creation being "hard", it'd be that it's probably an extremely high stress situation simply because of how much you have to walk on eggshells in regards to demonitization, how tuned in you have to be into the "algorythm" and just how consistent you need to be with content. This doesn't mean they have any right to bitch, since they gave up the consistency/stability of real work for the freedom of what amounts to freelance work, basically.
