TGWTG "Nostalgia Critic" / Doug Walker, Rob Walker, Mike Michaud, Mike Ellis, Holly Christine Brown, et al - The Incompetent Predator-Protecting Upper Management of Channel Awesome, Doug Still Not That Funny

And #ChangeTheChannel and the Indiegogo provided tons of reasons and opportunities to make stories and lies about Doug. And then Hocus Pocus. And then The Wall.
You're right about #ChangeTheChannel and Lordkat making shit about the Indiegogo made it easy for people to believe made up stories and lies about Doug. I don't get how The Wall and Hocus Pocus somehow got people to believe anything about Doug.

I’d say it’s mostly to rehash the old stories, and make a big deal about why Doug still gets views when it’s been well proven he’s a terrible video maker and just a general piece of shit.

How about the Little Nemo dance?

It's bizarre even when I was like 17 years old I could still realize that most of the channel awesome contributors and especially Doug and the "anniversary films" we're cringey as fuck and poorly made to boot.

I often wonder who actually got excited for that shit.

Probably the TGWTG fans. Although the most i’d say of CA haters back then was probably the folks who think they’re better because “they watch Red Letter Media”.

And then a lot of ex CA people would say the films were shit because “they went to film school and Doug rejected their advice”.

And then folks like Asalieri and LordKat took the moment to be smug about it like “We always knew Channel Awesome was shit, and you’re JUST NOW realizing that? I guess you didn’t like the truth when we said it”.

Honestly, I’d say that the popularity of TGWTG was the epitome of “you had to be there”.

Personally I didn't watch either red letter media or most CA content. I watched doug for a bit before I got tired of His Schtick and I watched James Rofle (still go back sometimes and watch the older episodes of AVGN). I tried watching like the first anniversary film saw it was shit and turned it off, they just got exponentially worse from there.

Asalierei I remember because someone trolled him by telling a bunch of people someone living at his adress was giving away their retro game collection via craigslist and a bunch of people showed up at his house all day.

Kickassia is a masterpiece of surrealist filmmaking wdym?

Jokes aside it was just fun to see your favorite creators interact with one another in a absurd scenario and particularly in the first movie, the fun they seem to be having doing such. Plus there are people that unironically like Space cop so enjoyment is very subjective here

I'll take your word for it. I liked a select few channel awesome creators myself, a lot of the shit was just kind of off to me, even as a teen.

I think there’s a lot of people these days who like Kickassia ironically. The other two, I’ve heard nothing but scorn.

As a fan of TGWTG back when this came out, I was very luke warm to it. Of all the big productions, I enjoyed that battle royale one, due to the side videos of James and Doug running into each other. The other one I enjoyed was the uncanny valley compilation. Everything else was "okay, I chuckled a few times".
2022 Walker, I'm okay with, skits and all, they don't always hit, but he's not the screaming autist he was in his early days. I enjoy the celebrity skits most of all. Plus, I fucking crack up over Wilkins returning.

Got a video or two to drop on ya - reviews of Doug's movies Kickassia and Suburban Knights, with To Boldly Flee on horizon.

Kickassia review: https://youtu.be/6eNDwXjygzY

Suburban Knights review: https://youtu.be/f0ZQ3cP34pY

The creator of the videos is TheAlmightyLoli, "famous" for making a 20+ hour analysis of the Berserk manga and a video on lefty comicsgate hypocrite and pedo apologist JustSomeGuy. Besides reviewing the actual movies, he also goes into the Channel Awesome drama and brings up the document where TAL comes to a pretty good conclusion.

Everyone from CA is a liar and should not be trusted.

He also streamed all three movies with his buddy PunishedShota where they react to the movies. Highlight reel of the streams can be found here:
