Unfortunately Tony was not special or particularly gifted, but instead of grappling and making peace with that, he latched onto a totalising explanation: he is actually a woman trapped in a man’s body, and that is why he has not reached the heights he seemed to think he was destined for.

As a straight man who doesn't know much about the dynamics inside the groups that fall under the LGBT umbrella... how much of that "quarrel" is personal opinion (i.e, what you wish the LGB would do), and how much is actual, current reality? I'm not an American, but in my country, 100% of gays and lesbians are hardcore defenders of transsexuals. And I do mean hardcore.

I hear a lot about "LGB without the T" and stuff like that, but all of it it's pretty much confined to selected places like KF. In real life (at least in my neck of the woods), I've NEVER seen or heard a single thing from an LGB against any T. And I'm completely surrounded by gay people.

Late to reply, but most of us older dykes/fags have always been wary of trannies. But there used to be a massive distinction between transexuals and transvestites... now known as HSTS and AGP respectively. We were cool with transexuals up to a certain point, but they had their own agenda and we had ours. Trannies back in the day would say shit like, "I know I'm not a woman/man, but I want to look like one and I want to be seen as one." And they put in a ton of effort to pass. We all kind of banded together because everyone hated us, but it was never a solid alliance. Fast forward to the current day... there's self ID... trannies claiming there's no difference between cock and puss, passing is unnecessary, dysphoria is irrelevant. Most young homos have been brainwashed, but ask anyone over the age of 28 how they really feel and most would tell you they're sick of troons invading our spaces and putting themselves front and center of every cause. Most of us just keep our mouths shut unless directly asked by someone we can trust. I personally don't want to lose my job, so I don't go around publicly announcing what I think, but in private and in niche online communities, my feelings are well known. I suspect that's how it is for a lot of us.

It’s worth mentioning that in my experience as a member of a gay social circle, there is a marked lack of curiosity about trans people and how they actually live/what they want. Many of my gay friends robotically repeat the same babble that well-meaning liberals of any background spill. It seems like as soon as most gays know enough to virtue signal/discipline non-believers, they turn on cruise control.

As stated elsewhere, lesbians are expected to do all of the above (at the bare minimum) plus be sexually available to transbians. Truly the worst of everything.

Due to the nature of my work, I know quite a few gay and lesbians. My experience is all the lesbians regardless of age are against this and have a deep seated anger at gay men not only not supporting them, but joining in the parade of “suck the girldick.” The older lesbians feel particularly betrayed because they say this is their time of need, and gay men are not reciprocating everything they did for them in the AIDS epidemic.

The older gay men are more likely to see the damage this is doing than the younger ones. But despite a few genuinely good blokes? This is really interesting. It's like we want someone to give us special knowledge, and we'll always find someone to just GIVE that respect to when they haven't done anything to earn it. If you start valorizing victims, the ones who have it worst have the most special insight, I guess, and we would rather just let them talk than think for ourselves?
