𝕏 / Twitter / X, the Social Media Platform Formerly Known as Twitter / "MUSK OWNS TWITTER"

Calling it now, he'll do another poll, just for Blue subscribers, shitlibs are gonna subscribe en masse to vote him out of twitter (because that's how libtards think) and then, win or lose, it will be another le epic certified 9gag Musk moment, "all the libtards that hate him are giving him their money LOL reddit gold".

Not sure guys I kind a like the new frames.

I hope he immediately shuts it down. Then the people get what they wished for, Elon not running Twitter. But they no longer have Twitter, too.
So long as there is a demand for microblogging, there will be a Twitter. The only thing that will come from Musk running Twitter into the ground is motivate the apolitical majority that makes up the bulk of all Social Media platforms to move on to another platform. This group is the lifeblood of any social media platform, as it is the one driving most of the engagement. (It was the failure to capture this group that led to the death or irrelevance of early right-wing social media alternatives like Voat, Gab, Ruqqus, etc.) But it takes quite a bit to move this group, since it doesn't tend to keep up-to-date on politics. It takes a major change that affects most people viscerally to get this group to migrate from one platform to another. (Tumblr's ban on pornographic material was one such change.) Leftists look forward to Musk making enough bad decisions that the average user becomes inclined to believe the premanufactured MSM narrative that Twitter is dying, as it will lead this majority to move on to another microblogging platform just like Twitter, only with a different name, but (statistically likely) run by yet another group of Silicon Valley-types. If Twitter dies, Musk will have lost $44 billion and the name of the platform will have changed, and everything else will be back to how it was when Gadde and co. ran things.

On a completely unrelated note, does anyone know what's going on with Mastodon (and its derivatives) as of late? I have a feeling that in just a few months time (or less), we'll be seeing a crisis that rocks the entire "faggotry matrix" of the Fediverse down to its core (the Fediverse itself being mostly untouched and unaffected, of course).

What are you talking about? There's speds in this very thread who are saying that and cheering Musk on. He is/was a darling on A&H.

The same people who threw a tantrum about people getting banned for violating the TOS are now celebrating journalists getting the ban for criticizing Musk.

Sorry but your side has hypocritical dumbasses, too.

For the record, I said it before and I will say it again, if you violate the terms of service, whatever they are, they should be able to ban you. Musk now owns Twitter, so you gotta follow the rules to stay on. But it is fucking hilarious he's so thin skinned that he bans journalists who are critical of him while pretending to be a champion of free speech and alt-right speds eat it all up
TLDR no one here cares.

Elon stepping down would be a terrible idea because all it’d do would cause Twitter to go back to the “inmates running the asylum” state it was at before he bought it. The first thing the new head would do would just be rehiring everyone canned and reestablishing the Trust and Safety Council, and then they go to rebuilding the burnt bridges.
musk stepping down doesn't mean he's gonna sell or has no further control, jfc....

I'd say it's more a chance that we could see it be like Jack Dorsey where he hands somebody the keys, and then proceeds to go on a power trip, and then we have the revelations of the Twitter files because of the mix of hugbox and moral crusade that someone wants to build.

It's presumptuous of us to think even a slim majority of Musk's detractors understand this, but him stepping down due to what seems like internal shareholder pressure worries me. He had too much fun and it created chaos, and chaos that is not orchestrated and curated by the Left is considered risky and therefore bad for business.

musk isn't jack dorsey, the fuck.
and after all the the antics, what came out and making the bid in the first place he's not putting another woketard in charge.

what is it with all the "haha richest man in the world is also a drooling retard" shit?

given where part of the money from I wouldn't say left (it's probably worse), but he clearly ruffled some feathers.

still doesn't mean we'll return to old twitter, if ever. we might get there a some point in the future, but not for now. too much shit came out, too many people paying attention (for now), and the 2020's aren't the 2010's. if he's forced to step down he'll put someone else in charge, even if it's just a puppet to let things calm down on the surface.

It's the same shit with Trump. Simultaneously a clown and also criminal mastermind that somehow manipulates millions of far-right militiamen.

Hilariously transparent propaganda but niggercattle slurp it all down like good goys.

Trump for as much a mixed bag I find him never called for his supporters to be violent.

Really late, but Reddit is still Reddit:

Also, wasn’t it already stated on here that Elon suggested the idea of shutting down Twitter altogether since the business plan and structure of the website is currently un-salvageable?

I don’t see him stepping down, but I also don’t see any real point as to why you need to keep the website as a whole up. Most of the Twitter followers will just spam more things on Instagram and use it as their personal Twitter.
