𝕏 / Twitter / X, the Social Media Platform Formerly Known as Twitter / "MUSK OWNS TWITTER"

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
I'm skeptical of that considering how many sites full of wholesale copyright infringement there are that they haven't gone after. I think they have it in for him personally.
That’s probably true, but in the case of Twitter hosting objectionable content is going to be the bigger issue than copyright abuse, and the US is going to be the best place for protections for that. If they really want to I’m sure they’ll find something else to hit Elon with, but in the US at least he won’t be fined and charged for having objectionable speech to the extent he would be almost anywhere else. If he joined Kim in NZ for example, we all know they’d demand he keep certain things suppressed.

It's really pathetic that Wikipedia has made an article about journo swine getting banned from Twitter. And I also really hope Musk doesn't take the poll to heart and step down either.
Part of me thinks this whole thing is a test Willy Wonka style- comes out of no where, talks to some absolute financial screwups in a semi serious way, all while he's out partying. In the end, he already has chosen who he wants. Or this was just the biggest social experiment of all time, I don't fucking know.

A while back in this thread I got into it about the tracker accounts banning. Not gonna rehash that as my stance will not change. Apparently this stalker is a blackmailer. It is essentially the same tactics used by ANTIFA but at an individual scale.

I won't be surprised if he might have some hidden skeletons in his closet as well, the same kind of skeletons then the two guys shot by Kyle Rittenhouse have.

Btw, let's see how he might react if we track the flights of the liberals Hollywood guys. What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

I facepalm hard whenever I read tripe like this. This very website was almost killed in a mass cancellation campaign that had Fed fingerprints all over it and yet you have the gall to praise the so-called 'US freedoms', which absolutely do not matter in the grand scheme of things as ALL big tech companies are Fed-infested and will do whatever the state tells them to, Twitter being another example. Hello, have you perhaps missed this post? Get real.
I notice a conspicuous lack of an alternative country in both the original post and yours. Curious, is it not? Maybe you should get in contact with null if you're so concerned with the US government working to take the site down, I'm sure he's never heard your suggestion before, or paid attorneys thousands of dollars to research hosting in literally every other country in the entire world.

And that's the problem with any other country than the U.S. No matter whether it's legal everywhere else, almost every other country has quirks or you can't criticize their leaders or government, or they have "super-injunctions" like the UK, or GDPR like the EU, or they're absolute shitholes which is okay unless someone decides to piss off the local organized crime groups, etc.

I'm not saying Kim is right about a site like Twitter, just that he has really specific reasons not to trust the U.S. in general.

Asking for money in a situation like this is insanely dumb. Remember Avenatti? He did that in what would have been a legitimate (if flimsy) legal case, but turned it into extortion by phrasing it incorrectly. This guy is already on thin legal ground and demanding money not to disclose facts (even if you do legally have them) is seriously dangerous.

Assuming he did that. He wouldn't be guilty of anything for turning down an offer by Musk. But if he made a counter-offer, that's potentially troublesome.

I just wish Musk would say something already. The suspense is killing me! One way or another, I just need to know.

Dude never really “wanted in” in the first place, by now it’s pretty obvious that he seriously regrets making the offer and only followed through because he was legally obligated to. Everything he does needs to be judged with the consideration that, were it up to him, he wouldn’t own Twitter right now.
Really? Last I heard, he just wanted a lower price because of bots.
the meme is starting boys.

I remember Musk talking about pissing off the left and the right, and this whole saga has the potential of starting a right wing meltdown.

Obviously we can’t prove anything either way unless some private correspondences leak, but IMO it’s more likely that he wanted to back out but couldn’t. From an objective financial perspective, buying Twitter for $44 billion dollars is really fucking stupid, and Musk is at least smart enough to recognize that after the fact.

Not gonna lie, this whole thing screams citogenesis. Someone talked about it as a shitpost, some dumb journalist took it seriously and commented on it as an actual possibility, others started citing that as being a possibility, and now its "the rumor going around".

Musk would be far more likely to pull some senior staffer who's loyal from Tesla or SpaceX over a random Trump family member.
