Why Lizzo is setting out to be the next beauty standard

Lizzo is the ultimate girl's girl who is redefining modern-day beauty standards. She's blazing trails and uplifting her fans one sparkling bodysuit at a time – so, why can't we all be as body confident as the superstar rapper?

In a brilliant interview, Lizzo rightly calls herself a "body icon" and celebrates the likes of Kim Kardashian for helping women embrace their bodies, no matter the shape, size or colour. The 'Juicy' songstress has us feeling inspired and we hope what she has to say does the same for you!

"It may not be one person's ideal body type just like, say, Kim Kardashian might not be someone's ideal, but she's a body icon and has created a modern-day beauty standard," the 34-year-old told PEOPLE.

'One day that will just be the standard'

"And what I'm doing is stepping into my confidence and my power to create my own beauty standard. And one day that will just be the standard," she added.

Lizzo's rise to fame hasn't come without its attacks from the haters. In a 2021 social media post, she slammed "fatphobic" trolls who publicly targeted her online because she doesn't "fit into the box" they "want to put us in."

In another post she pointed out the obvious, something her relentless haters simply can't come to terms with. "Bodies are not all designed to be slim with a six-pack."

And true to form, Lizzo gave fans advice with a healthy dose of sass."If you're feeling down on yourself today, just remember that your body is your body. Nobody got your body. So enjoy that b***h."

'I'm a body icon'

Fast-forward to the end of 2022 and Lizzo's at the top, both in her career and mindset. "I think I have a really hot body! I'm a body icon, and I'm embracing that more and more every day," she tells PEOPLE.

"I had to blaze a trail," she says, admitting, "There was no Lizzo before Lizzo.

"I don't think I'm the only kind of fat girl there is. I want us to be freed from that box we've been put in."

What's more, Lizzo is where she is for a reason. "I deserve the spotlight. I deserve the attention. I'm talented, I'm young, I'm hot. You know? And I've worked hard."

Yes, girl.

I think they just want attention, even if a white guy was to say that obese black women were totally his type people on social media would get mad.
I dunno. I’m on Facebook and have low standards and I tell black chicks “Yo, how about I face fuck you like my dick is Popeyes and you want a dinner for three?” And they seem flattered and interested in my poetic words.

Her voice isn't bad, its basically just 'generic pop vocal'. Like I've probably heard her songs in stores or on TV, but there'd be no way to discern it from the 100,000,000 other rich pop stars that I don't give a fuck about.

I mean the media is simping so hard for this bitch and it has to be her publicist or something paying mad cash to get her name out because there's literally nothing exceptional about her except her fat. She's no fucking Aretha Franklin, that's for fucking sure. She's generic pop, like She-Hulk or Ten Rings or Star Wars or any other generic, bland trash.

The only thing unique is this mind-boggling push to go "OMG THIS OBESITY IS SO SEXY" to make fat women feel good about themselves to never lose a pound and then die in their 40s or be a massive drain on the healthcare system.

And a large part of the problem for the media is a lot of the formerly 'fat' pop stars who were famous for being fat have all lost weight lol. I will bet 1000% that as soon as people get bored of her, she'll lose huge amounts of weight and then all of a sudden be talked about again. She's not losing weight because its literally her only selling point, she'll shed the pounds once she vanishes into the ether.

It's pretty hilarious that the press/media/pr agencies are trying to get young women to become super obese and eat themselves to death :story:

so what's the betting rate on lizzo only liking slim/fit men and have shamed fat men in the past?

Holy shit... that's exactly why they picked her. The last fatty singer they promoted, whatever the fuck her name was, was white and then lost a bunch of weight once she got popular which pissed off all the fat acceptance bitches who probably were happily thinking "yeah, I'm overweight, but not as fat as her, lololololol."

A fat, obnoxious, black woman is never going to shed those pounds until she's rendering in a crematorium. So TPTB get a dancing (literal) monkey until she drops dead, to get money from the FA consoomers.
If you do a GIS for Adele almost all of the images are of the landwhale version, not the nice looking, current Adele. Even Google won't stop being catty about it.

Somewhere Chantal is singing "If I was a nigger for just a day, I would have everything the easy way!" .

so what's the betting rate on lizzo only liking slim/fit men and have shamed fat men in the past?
She sexually harassed Chris Evans and the journalists all got behind her and pushed going "CAPTAIN AMERICA NEEDS TO HARPOON THIS LANDWHALE!"
