IDK why people are so focused on whether or not Bahmut is captured/liberated. Look at the map:

Even if Prigozhin's cannon fodder somehow manages to take the western part of Bahmut, then they'd have to fight a literal uphill battle (with supply lines exposed to enemy arty), it'd be even more difficult. Also, these hills make envelopment of Ukr forces in Bahmut nigh impossible and only leave space for head-on attacks. After all, walking into obvious traps is an established tradition in the Red Army (see Operation Mars, Nevsky Pyatachok etc).
