I would suggest that a "journalist" big enough would likely not exist; and even if they did it would be unlikely for the story to really blow up. Singel previously covered it to little avail. Truth be told, the vast majority of the public would unlikely care all that much. I do not wish for this to come off as a black pill, but despite the relative importance of the coming days/weeks in relation to net neutrality this frankly isn't something that most people would care about. This exists primarily in the realm of the historian.

I am being very optimistic in my national headlines scenario, I'll admit that. But all the retardation and ridiculousness which is free wheeling through reality at a level beyond imagination keeps me upbeat. My sunny outlook continues because:

1) This saga is full of hot-button outrage topics soaked in gross out, gossipy details. People like getting mad as much as they like getting shocked: just look at Jerry Springer, true crime podcasts, Twitter, and even our beloved Kiwi Farms.

2) Having the heart of this story be a grave, serious matter gives it a gloss of dignity for everyone pretending to be above gawking at freak shows. This reminds me of people (especially journalists) during the Clinton impeachment saga feigning intellectual interest in congressional protocol so they can talk about Bill putting a cigar in Monica's pussy.

3) Complex, sprawling stories are good subjects for long format entertainment which is becoming increasingly popular. A YouTube documentary or podcast series can be done by a single person, no scumbag journos or pozzed media outlets required

4) Even if it's only some tech industry nerds paying attention, good things can happen. As Mr Liz has shown us, you can get a lot done with a small number of people in the right places.
