I do not believe Lily could quietly get a firearms license without taking a picture of it, her gun, and herself at a firing range. I doubt she even has the strength to load bullets into a magazine.
And notice how vague the timeline is, she got it after she was raped by one of her stalkers. When tf did that happen? We don't know so we can't give an accurate sequence of events.
Was it before someone showed up at her apartment? Then why did she get in a fist fight with him? Why not just pull a gun and tell him to leave?

While it's not inconceivable that she got a firearm license (insofar as she is eligible as a Canadian citizen to go through the courses and take the test), it would only allow her to purchase a long gun (rifle, shotgun) for sport and hunting purposes. Handguns -- the thing you would use for self-defense -- are highly regulated and require an advanced license, which seems to be distributed almost exclusively to armored truck drivers.
Canada's self-defense laws are extremely restrictive, at least compared to the US. That little switchblade she was showing off before her her lesbian knife energy or whatever? That's illegal to carry and if she had used it in self-defense (as she's claimed) would have been arrested alongside her alleged assailant and gone through courts having to defend her right to defense (even moreso because the person she alleged to have stabbed was MAGA Baseball Man, who even according to her own story was just leering and posturing and hadn't actually attacked anybody).
All of which is just to say that yes, of
course she's lying.

It's wild to me that Lily will see messages accusing her of 'fatphobia' or whatever and instead of realizing that this is the ideological climate with which she aligns herself just blame it on her crazy alt-right stalkers, a group of people notorious for their involvement in the body positivity movement.
I will say that this is another facet of her surface-level characterization, though. Lily added a few heavy characters to Madhouse specifically because somebody called her out for only having skinny characters -- so it's already tokenism -- and then goes out of her way to define them
by their weight.
This isn't the first time she's done this kind of thing, from adding 'Neurotype' to an autistic character's profile to 'Race' only after Aliana was introduced to making sure to specify that the character who is drawn as fat is, in fact, fat. It's so nakedly performative it's almost funny.
While the body of this is disgusting on its own (how dare somebody take a couple of tries at the final to earn a science-oriented degree in an era where a degree actually meant something?), I want to point out the following:
Lily has repeatedly implied or explicitly stated that her dad was an abuser. She is also an advocate for cutting abusers completely out of your life.
Apparently her dad still calls on her, checks on her, cares enough to see that she's struggling with her main line of income, and still invites Lily to his home for family gatherings and holidays. Moreover, Lily accepts the invitation despite how much she talks about hating her parents. So she'll accept their charity, kindness, and love while still sneering and badmouthing them to the public.
I don't have the vocabulary to express what an ungrateful shitstain she is.
