Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

Reposting this image from the cartoon industry thread, but people especially online act like shows such as Bluey are the highest tier of animation when they're just preschool shows.

I had a measure of sympathy but then she invoked Owl House as some sort of successful show and I creased up. While in her list of girl led shows failed to mention things like Amphibia, Tangled and more.

Speaking of Owl House started back up right? Should watch it just so I gave it a fair chance to the end. Some of the cast are quite interesting, shame none of them are the main ones.
That might have been intentional since her story had Gay Acronym characters in it just like Owl House. But unlike Owl House, her shit isn't getting animated and canned after 3 seasons.

Speaking of, I say give it the first 3 episodes. The first two try to subvert fantasy tropes and fail but then they find their footing by ep 3. If you still watch after that, know that the episode Luz goes to the magic school is your last chance to go. That's when things get dramatic (and gay).

Is that first or second season? Id be happy with at least one seasons worth of decent episodes that don't take the mask covering the wokness off.
First season. It's Episode 13 of 19. After that I don't know (nor care) anymore. I do know that prom episode is in that season somewhere and that's when the mask is off.

I know you said you don't care but it's season one ep 16. The prom episode that apparently Dana Terrance wrote because she's STILL seething about her own prom being a total bust. Newsflash Dana that's life. It's one dance that doesn't mean shit a month or so later get over it.

But yeah to anyone keeping score? Thats 13 episodes or one seasons worth by most western animation standards. Then two where she starts going to magic school...episode 15 being your very last chance to just walk away and pretend owl house was a decent flash in the pan experiment by Disney. Too bad it ended before Luz could find a way home.

Didn’t she put her collage hang up into the show as the main ship

I cam pull one example of a show that proves Simpson wrong on the whole girl's shows don't sell bs argument. The new show hamster and gretel. I've only seen the first episode but so far it's probably the best comedic Disney show since milo Murphys law. (Which I think it shares a creator or at least art design team with) Its a show staring a female lead and so far it's gotten my attention.
It is 1/2 the creative team of Phineas and Ferb and Milo Murphy's Law (Dan Povenmire). I'm glad to see it's getting good responses, I haven't gotten around to watching it, but I'm always rooting for that crew. His daughter voices the main character.

I watched the first couple of seasons, just aware the latest is I believe out now so should probably watch to the end.

There's a good base in Owl House even if it is not especially creative. But it gets mostly wasted.

Real hot take, adult animation fans are their worst enemy and the main reason why animation is associated with kids and manchildren in the west.

speaking as someone who watched a decent amount of Owl House

it's best to skip it, the worst issues were in the 1st season was the shit pacing and grating characters (Luz immediately comes to mind), the issues ramped to the nth degree in the 2nd season with the worst aspects of the show

not to mention the obviously embarrassing self-insert oc, and annoying gay pandering that Dana shoved into the show

Not to mention that the titular Owl House has little to no impact on the plot.

That’s not a hot take, that’s the truth.

Look at Dana Terrace, The Owl House is nothing more than her self-insert fantasy.

Amity is her self-insert OC, and Luz is her OC waifu. And the most embarrassing part is that Dana is 32 year old woman.
