I'm loathe to defend the Tranch, but they could be doing this only for the stir-fry/ wok cooking. Home burners normally don't have the width or intensity to get this certain prized flavour, called Wok Hei/breath of the wok. By removing the burner, the flames can get around/directly onto ingredients, and achieve that wok Hei.

However, I've never heard anyone advising removing the burner to do that, so if it works, it's probably unsafe, and irresponsible, so in-keeping with the Tranch.

Imo the most infuriating things about the tranch is that they had the assumption that farming is some sort of idealistic fun time where all the animals are happy and everything is simple. It definitely isn't. Modern farming is a more of an industrial and scientific venture that is only profitable on a large scale or in extremely niche markets that take lots of skills and connections. Farming animals is orders of magnitude harder than plants also (usually) and farming also requires mechanical knowledge and general experience, which trannies usually don't have.


Them donating to "Mission: Wolf (a solar-powered nature center that provides a sanctuary for unwanted captive-born wolves)" just highlights their disconnected tranny idealism that doomed them. Most real farmers fucking hate wolves and coyotes and want them extinct tbh

It doesn't matter whether you're doing modern farming or Bronze Age farming. Your entire life revolves around the welfare of the animals. It's never been as easy as "just let the animals do what they do lol."

Colorado is technically a high desert, plus with being a mile closer to the sun, normally any snow accumulated overnight melts by noon and you don’t need arctic survival gear to get around

Tl;dr: A Thermos keeps hot things hot, and cold things cold. Also remember that the non-brand name term for a Thermos is "Vacuum Bottle". Colorado, being elevated, has thinner air. You don't lose much heat via conduction like you do on the east coast/midwest, you only lose heat via radiation (hot thing shooting off heat as infrared) and sublimiation (your sweat/lung moisture (or any fluid on you) quickly evaporating)

You can very easily counter these forces; this is why you see people walking around aspen through snow drifts in long pants and windbreaks; all you need to do to stay warm is keep your body heat from radiating away, and pretty much any garment that covers your skin will do that.

Supply issues aside, were the tranchers trying to forge and make Bronze Age farming tools too, they would have given up in a week.

Human life has always been hard work, it’s only the past 50 or so years that being a lazy shit and not dying has been possible.

We all called this in early 2021 when someone at the tranch (Penny probably) casually admitted in a tweet that a number of alpaca had frozen to death, just as like an off-handed mention.

It was Bonnie.

I happened to be rewatching the MATI on Kevin and the tranch and Null pulled that up (screencap from the stream). The stream was May 3, 2021 so the first alpaca freeze-off must have happened in 2020, earlier than Bonnie himself said in his recent callout tweet.

I saw that actually got mentioned in a post a few pages before the feature, in Paul's big Twitter thread. Here's the link to the post, it's a little ways in though. Some random furry asked Paul about the documentary and according to Paul it seems like Ash cancelled it. Also that Ash "made a mistake" in their friendship, (whatever that means) and they haven't spoken ever since. So who knows if either of them has reached out to the other in light of all this.
