The Isle - Developement since 2015 and still shit - Narcissistic Developer alongside a team that never delivers promises and break the game even more with each update

So I thought it was time for The Isle (a dino survival game) to get its own thread due to all the drama it has with the developer, Dondi (which won't be discussed in depth here), and the whole team. But especially Update 6 nudged me to do so. Why?

-A new map alongside a new Dino and new mechanics were promised but literally just one mechanic, gore and revised diet, were added (broken promises).
-We had to wait for one new mechanic (and sound revision which was a very good thing) a half year.
-That mechanic is broken with some diet combinations being completely useless.
-They broke the game to the point that most dinosaurs are unplayable due to how nerfed they’ve been (and they’ve been direly fine before.) They nerfed a Dino (Dryosaurus) that was literally already so weak that no one played it.
-They broke the game to the point that some dinosaurs were buffed so much that it’s not worth it playing anything else than these dinosaurs. (Carnotaurus being able to ram your tail and knock you over or don’t even touch you for that, Pachycephalosaurus being too strong now and also knocking you over and Stegosaurus, that slow big thing, being faster than a Carnotaurus.)

-Countless other things like not being able to look around during eating or drinking (who the hell asked for this?) zoomed in camera on pterosaur, having to finish eating animation before being able to move.
-And they broke the games graphics. I’m not joking, daytime is brighter than fire and night vision is a joke. Also you have to fiddle so much with the graphics to get decent ones as most settings result in the whole environment being pixelated. Not to mention that you need a NASA computer else you get non-existent FPS around other players (which is of course terrible in fights). Some can’t even play the game despite a good PC, it’s this bad for some. And on low graphics the game looks like an eyesore.

They literally made all the worst choices in this update, to a game that was already unfun to play due to how little good playables they have and a growth system that is a tedious chore. This game is literally the definition of “do everything to not lose your progress or you have to do this pain all over again.”

There are also two other games that compete with the Isle - Beasts of Bermuda and Path of Titans - which do a lot of stuff better and some stuff worse. If you’d combine all the threes good stuff together you’d have a very fun and good dinosaur game in my opinion.
These three of course have their own issues and some drama, PoT making trailers that aren't anything like the game and BoB being trashy in graphics and combat, but that's for another thread.

All you have to know is that Path of Titans looks like this

And Beasts of Bermuda looks like this

To comparison, Isle looks like this (on the new map since the old one is going to be deleted anyway.)

In this thread I want to mostly focus on the game and not the developers, as else it'd have to be a lolcow thread, so if you're interested in what a person Dondi is (the lead developer) I recommend this video.

Now onto the hell that the Isle developement is.
I divided it into sections so that it's easier to read, but they're not connected to each other and rather show the different shitparts of the developement of the game.

At the end of every month there is a new devblog released on steam so everyone knows what's being worked on and get excited about it.
...
Haha, no, they just show off concept art that will never be realized and dinos and mechanics that won't appear until 2068 or never.
In short, the concept art is useless and the devblogs give 99% of the time false hope.

What I have learned through years of The Isle is that if something isn't on their roadmap https://trello.com/b/G5tsb4XI/public-roadmap then it's not going to happen and appear even if they write an essay about bla bla coming in update 86.
They talked about migration and a new map coming in update 6. Did it come?
No.
Why not?
"Because it's not on the roadmap."

The reason why the developement is so slow is because they focus on literally everything instead of finishing one by one.

Did I say they also added unfinished humans to the game for no reason? Humans are supposed to arrive late late into developement, but that's what I mean when I say the developers are working on literally everything even if it serves no purpose at the time.

They also let a night vision that caused seizures for weeks in the game and at first didn't want to change it.

Old Night vision (yes it's the official night vision)

There are a few feedback channels on the discord where you can - you guessed it - give feedback which is then voted on by the community with "Yes" or "No".
I don't bother talking about it because as you saw they do the opposite of what people ask for. Needless to say it is running rampant since Update 6 with all its issues.

I present to you now the most tidious, frustrating and boring aspect of the game: Growing your dino! What you do 90% of the time in the game is the worst part of the game!

First off, it takes a long long long time. 1,5 hours to grow the average dino with some taking up to 4 hours.
Second, if you're 5% away from 100% adult, you still have zero chance against an 100% adult even if you're skilled! Because your dino barely grows during these stages of 10-90%! That's right! In the last ten percent of your growth you get all the stats boosted by three-fold! Suddenly in the last nine minutes of your growth you go from 120kg weight to 800kg, your bite force goes from 10.5 to 80! Until then, have fun being a dog with no teeth! And if you die, well that's too bad, start the whole chore anew. Wait another 2 hours to have your five minutes of fun in a battle.
Third - you just wasted your time. Rage quit and never come again.

Yes, they will all appear as most of them were in the old legacy version of the game (which was abandoned due to a programmer doing a revenge move on Dondi and corrupting the code, which is the reason there is now EVRIMA, the current version of the game.) The rest is on the roadmap or already available as AI in the game. Some flyers and aquatics aren't mentoined in the text post, as Pteranodon, which you can already play as in the game.

Only to your information - currently there are 4 playable carnivores and 5 playable herbivores. They add about 1-2 new dinos per year. See you.

I might add more sections, but these are the most important ones that everyone gets at.

Nigga what dinosaur game? update your OP, fgt, does this island has a discord? is there drama ongoing that can be archived and screenshotted to be sneeded?
see exhibit A on how to make a OP about a game.

My brother in christ, ping me when your thread is actually worth shit instead of this boney mess.
Edited and reworked it. It's a scarce review of everything but it should do for now.

It needs to be said that the preview image for this is, to me, blatantly trying to evoke Dino Crisis 2 vibes, but the actual game apparently has nothing to do with it. There's not an overrun human city out of time or tunnels with rusted-out jeeps.
