This is true for anyone who truly becomes a criminal and preys on people, they know how to find the naive, the overly trusting, childlike individuals and milk them for money or in certain cases influence or even sex like you said. it's very rarely well-off middle class men that are targeted by predators like that, it's the mentally weak, and the vulnerable (certain women, abuse victims, the elderly, children, etc.). I've known a few people who were taken advantage of by drug dealers who tried to get them hooked on the hard shit, these people tend to be very childish or overly trusting and fresh out of highschool (Ralph and diddler dax's favorite targets)
