I discovered Jim at the tail end of the Internet Aristocrat days, and the way that particular "persona" ended and how Jim viewed GamerGate and people like Sargon shows why so many others have tried and failed to emulate him, and why he is so well liked.

Ever since YouTube (and social media in general) really took off and became a monetized thing, the Internet as a whole was infected with the kind of delusional, disingenuous, greedy, back-biting, self-important grifters and lunatics that you usually didn't see outside of the media industry, politics, rich social circles, and Los Angeles. Sargon`s statements about getting Trump to tweet about GamerGate encapsulates that perfectly, and Jim's general attitude about GG basically being "This is stupid and gay now, I want no part of any of this." is something you don't see from anyone popular nowadays. EVERYONE has to pick a side, EVERYONE has to proselytize and politicize, and turn stupid Internet bullshit into something bigger than it actually is. Why? Attention, clout and money. I could also throw delusions of grandeur in there, but as time goes on, it seems like even the most out-there people are just doing this shit so they don't have to get a real job.

Everyone from Ralph, to the countless nobodies who worship and try to do the same thing as Jim, all lack the charisma because it`s plainly obvious that they are thin-skinned losers who get in gay Discord and Twitter fights. Josh is the only who's in the same tier, because he's the only other relatively prominent Internet person that I don't feel like is both fake, and like we're just one bad day away from an autistic meltdown where we find a Discord full of weird porn and chat logs of grooming and/or domestic abuse.

Gonna miss Jim if this is it. Are there people out there who are funnier, or who put together more coherent/entertaining streams? Sure. But the tragic irony behind the reason I (and many others I think) like Jim so much, is he seems like one of the very few people out there immune from the cancer that is killing the Internet.

I think the other part of it is that even with his "above it all" kind of attitude, he was self-aware that what he was talking about was retarded internet shit that was fun to laugh at. It always seemed to me he had excessive online hygiene, making sure never to cross the streams between his personal life and autistic internet squabbles, exemplified by his rebuffing of internet fwendships, and the lack of any major personal details about him other than his address and name. He truly was the oldest of fags, didn't trust strangers on the internet, didn't take things too seriously, and save for the few years of guntguarding by omission, spared no one from being laughed at.

On and off watched this guy since the late 2000's. Pretty funny, but his streams in the latter half of 2022 got repetitive. Definitely a unique guy who really gets the "rule of cool". It's not about being the best or showing off. It's about not being totally gay about things.

I'd say Jimbo had an okay year, he caused some perma butthurt in a few (deserving) communities. Wish he covered more funny weirdos like the schizo in desert, Acerthorn, and the cuck guy from 2021 New Years.

I don't really get why there's so many "hate-fans" of Jim. We barely know anything about the guy yet somehow you have hundreds of pages of people returning weekly to whine about him. I think a lot of it is maladjusted parasocial fans who imagined Daddy Jim to be something he wasn't, and then got heartbroken. I hope this thread becomes more Jim lore/theorizing than "JIM GOOD/JIM BAD".

This is just a dumb, perhaps even retarded, theory but I spent long enough thinking about it so I figured I'd share. Don't take it too seriously.

It's not completely impossible that all of this, the cancer aids, YOTC, everything, has been a ruse cruise to believably retire/kill off the Metokur/Jim character.

Lets examine the evidence.

1. Jim has a history of ditching a handle/persona and moving on to another with little to no communication to his audience. This tells me that on some level Jim enjoys starting over from a clean slate.

2. He was getting bigger than he'd ever gotten before, and it was starting to have an effect on his real life. People showing up at his house, a legal name change, etc. Our own dear leader figured out that family and spouses/significant others was a line for Jim, and the most plausible reason for why he was silent on Ralph until Portugal. It could very well be that things were starting to get too close to home and for the sake of Jade or perhaps at her request/insistence he wanted to move on.

3. While its not necessarily reasonable to expect anyone, let alone Jim, to be completely forthcoming about his medical history and issue with strangers over the internet, the fact remains that "CancerAIDS" did start as a meme and is vague enough to be fake. The few instances I recall of him getting any more specific consisted of medical technobabble that likely went over most of the audiences heads and could have just been lifted from something like WebMD. Furthermore throughout YOTC he would complain about being tired/out of energy from treatment but he still sounded relatively fine and even managed some exceptionally long streams.

4. Finally Jim had become so embroiled in talking about drama and bullshit in "the sektor" that he had no time for the content he was really passionate about. Laughing at dumb shit on the internet. Now sure much of the sektor is dumb shit on the internet but how many times can one guy really make the same jokes about Ethan Ralph? It had reached the point where that kind of content was all most of his audience expected from him. If this dumb theory holds any water it would mean that now under a new persona he would be free to do whatever kind of content he wanted again. I recall another post in this thread saying he favored the Jonathan Ross videos from his catalog. Remember that Ross was just some guy he stumbled on by searching for random streams on YouTube, not a Z list Internet Celebrity like Ralph or anyone else covered in the final YOTC.

INB4 anyone says he would never be able to hide his voice. According to an old stream of his he has before, and that's without the option to use voice changing technology or other such measures.

Bottom line, it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if after a year or so of laying low Jim comes back under a new name with no publicity and using a different voice so he can laugh at dumb shit on the internet freely again.


On the very likely chance that this theory is as dumb and retarded as it is wrong, I wholeheartedly pray Jim recovers from CancerAIDS and comes back to us in all his well earned glory.

If it's somehow even slightly right I don't blame him one bit for taking the "fake my own death" route since nothing else would really have worked in the long run.

I think the wrench in this theory is that when he came back at the start of the previous year he also mentioned that he was very sick. If he was trying to "kill" the character he could've just stayed gone. A lot of people didn't seem to know what happened to him until he came back.

I think the funny part about Jim is that it is more likely that normal people who enjoyed what he did will probably move on and he will remain in the minds of those who hate him the most. People like Ralph or Matt Jarbo will probably think more about him post mortem than your average KF user.
