Just caught up on a bunch of pages and videos. Been some time. Looks like this new season is finally hitting its stride here in the Kentoverse. This new @Ash Ketchum character that just got introduced is absolute garbage, though. Who writes him?

Anyway, let's be real here: Kent will almost definitely NEVER get a girlfriend, unless she's deformed, autistic, or mentally ill. It would honestly take a miracle. Being 5'2" literally eliminates - and I think I'm being conservative - 90% of the prospective dating pool in the United States. Instantly. Poof! Being black eliminates another sizable chunk. His personality, interests, fashion sense, and various mental hangups are just the icing on the cake, but they completely seal his fate. And he isn't ever leaving the country, either; I doubt he's been outside of California without parental supervision.

Is this situation really terrible? Yes. Is it unfair? Yes. Is Kent handling it in, like, one of the worst ways possible? YES.

My sincere advice to Kent would be to give up on attracting women entirely, at least for the foreseeable future. It isn't healthy for him to continue trying; he needs to accept that life has dealt him a borderline unplayable hand (In terms of the dating game. Overall, he's much better off than someone born with cystic fibrosis or something), but that there's very little that can be done to change it. Luckily, I suspect that it's possible to lead a happy and fulfilling life without a girlfriend. Ironically enough, the only (minute) chance he has of attracting a woman essentially requires that he stop actively pursuing one.

I have had one-on-one interactions with Kent, and I have tried to give him sincere advice. The problem is that the advice I'm offering is admittedly very difficult to hear. When that's the case, there's nothing left to do but sit back and enjoy the show. I do think, however, that a lot of people here in this thread do genuinely want what's best for him, and sympathize with him to an extent.

If we separated Kent's physical attributes and gave him a better personality and brain, I believe that he would have a chance to get a gf. Yes, being a 5'2", dark-skinned black male with average looks does lower how many women would be willing to date him but it's his personality that just kills it. His most recent vids did sound better at certain points but there was still the repetition of his fav phrases (time of the day, it is what it is, etc...) that makes me think that his same issues are there.

IMO he's quite good looking. The dark skin being less attractive thing is a weird concept to a white person from Australia. I think his looks are the absolute least of his problems.

The dark skin should not be a negative but it is in the USA. Here's an old saying that black people say about the skin color of black people: "White, you're allright / Brown, stick around / Black, get back!" This has been going on since black folk got over to the USA since the time of slavery. A black person who is lighter skinned with more white features (straight hair, smaller nose, smaller lips) is seen as being more attractive. I think it's bullshit but it's what a lot of black people go by. Kent could be seen as more attractive with darker skin if he was taller but since he's not a lot of women won't date or talk to him. In this point, I agree that he has gotten a really raw deal and it's not fair.

I'm another who thinks it's Kent's attitude that's probably the most harmful aspect about him. He really needs to surround himself with better people. He thinks guys like Calvin are by his side, but people like him are manipulators, not friends. You see Kent buying into everything this guy says, not realizing how poisonous his "advice" for men really is.

The sad part is he'll see people like us as his enemy instead of seeing who the real enemy is. We might not praise Kent on everything like his ass-kissers do, but we always acknowledge Kent when he's making a change for the better. The idea of hitting on co-workers is never a good idea. That's potential for creating a very awkward atmosphere if the advances aren't well received. Not a good idea. You can't say in one instance you're going to become more confident for yourself and not women, only to say the idea of not being a quitter should "turn them on" in some way. I could not picture a worse fate than becoming Calvin. I hear ISIS wouldn't even do that to you.

I'm not quite so sure that him being very short and black nukes his chances (although the height definitely reduces his dating pool by a significant amount) but everything else is definitely what completely fucks him over. Especially his unwillingness to do anything to help his issue.

Just to go back to this, there is a lot to go over. So much anger and talk of evil and payback, and how he wants to get revenge on people and comes off as a threat the longer he goes on... Like that isn't one of the bigger things that turn girls off. The majority of girls do not want an emotionally abusive partner, and it's a safety thing girls do. They tell each other about guys who are nothing but a bad time.
