Took a while but I finally caught up on the thread, thank you all for your archiving.

Not much to add expect a thought on what “Thorne” wrote; I know we joke/talk a lot about this being trans Waco and a cult, but my god was this ever a wasted opportunity for a real trans cult.

You have a group of followers already in desperate enough situations to come to your isolated compound, you have enough work that needs to be done that you can keep them busy and without sleep (lack of sleep and food is a huge part of keeping people under control and willing to follow) AND they already follow a doctrine that vilifies outsiders and authority figures and bonds even newcomers as “family” without the need of lovebombing.
They could have had a field of free labour and with a designated e-beggar or two in each camp (trailer?) they could have lived pretty well off online donations, grifts and not having to pay workers. Nearly a pure profit.
All they were missing was a charismatic leader to hold it all together.
Now don’t get me wrong; it wouldn’t have become an empire like Scientology but many small cults that convince their followers of communist or minimalist ideals (Jonestown and Aum being two great examples there) pulled in a TON of cash for their higher ups before the end, and most of both have never been recovered.

How frustrating; they had it all handed to them and wasted it by being addicted to plastic toys and porn. A bit of hard work in the first few years and that shit could have been running itself by year five.
