Indiana Jones & the Dial of Destiny - Using time travel to literally retcon the series

Am I the only person who liked Shia's character from the last movie?

I would have liked him being the new Indiana Jones.
I didn't mind Shia's character necessarily, but Shia himself lacks any sort of charisma. I don't even remember what his name is lmao. If he were to be recast, then I can see it working. Someone who actually inherited Ford's charm, or at least a reasonable facsimile.

Maybe. What about Short Round could an adult Short Round spin off work?
Wasn't he in that Everything Everywhere All At Once movie?

Shia is a decent actor, though.

Granted, personally he's a nut bag and unlikable. I guess that would turn a lot of people off.

I'd be on board for him being replaced though and have somebody else play his kid and taking the reigns.

Harrison has been throwing a tantrum about that lately, specifically whining that he doesn't want Pratt or anyone else to play the role. So that is one reason why Indy will be killed/erased in the new film.
What a pathetic man Ford is; he fucking hates the role but then refuses to just let it become like Bond, where you can replace the actor and have them play the basic character elements in their own way.

I wonder if this really is the case. Ego and legacy. I don't know why studios can't do a better job at managing talent to make them happy. It would be completely in keeping with the Indiana Jones concept of a serial to have endless adventures set around the 1930s. It doesn't matter if it make chronological sense. Most people don't even realise Temple of Doom is set before Raiders of the Lost Arc.

Ragardless of plans, the idea anyone wants a female Indiana Jones copy set in the 70s is silly. I liked Fleabag, but I don't see Pheobe Waller Bridge as being able to pull off the lead in a series like Indiana Jones.

Back to Harrison, makes me think of how Daniel Craig fucked up the Bond franchise by wanting his films to be about Bond and stuff. Over just being films with a good Bond film plot. So now, despite having a good M, Q and Moneypenny. They now have to throw all of that out, start from scratch because of how Craig insisted his tenor end. Putting the franchise in a terrible spot.

Harrison is being a retard, but what you smoking?

Harrison hates playing Han Solo, but loves playing indy. The only reason he signed on to TFA was to play Indy again.
