As of late Chris is strongly against anything that isn't playing PS4. There's only twenty four hours in a day and he's unemployed; he's gotta get that playtime in when he can.

It's pretty much what everyone has been saying would happen and it did so it's not really that much of a stretch that seeing as this isn't making him any "money" he's all meh about it.

Honestly I don't think Chris cares about money like most people. Most people NEED money, they need it to live, to feed their families, keep a roof over their heads, not live in the street. Chris only cares about life being easy and getting to do what he wants, he doesn't have to worry about a paycheck, his money goes in the same day of the month for practically his whole life, it's just something that happens, something he deserves. Chris would rather live like he does with minimal effort then be a millionaire and work 40 hours a week I truly believe that.

Oh, you're absolutely dead on.

There's a lot to criticize of Chris. But I think a lot of people's criticisms ignore this point. Chris does not have normal motivations, so he does not have normal decisions.

Chris doesn't live in garbage because he's retarded. He lives in garbage because he has no higher aspirations in life. You might as well be telling a plumber that he's wasting his life not pursing astrophysics.

(Well, and it's complicated by the fact that Chris is dominated by his insane, hoarding mother. But still, compensating for Barb, I can't imagine Chris would have high hopes for his life. Maybe an apartment and flipping burgers? But he'd be completely happy with that situation. I think that's pretty significant.)

Honestly and I'm sure I'll get bad ratings for this but I envy him in a way, he took himself out of the "rat race" so to speak, he doesn't care about money or status or making something of yourself he cares about peace of mind...that's it..even the sweet heart search is about that...he doesn't really care about sex he just wants someone to make his life easier...he's like those guys who say fuck it and go live in alaska in a tent because life is simpler there....except you can respect those people for choosing a hard life to live based on their principles

Have to disagree with you there. Bob is the one that got Chris set up on government aid. Instead of getting Chris into a school or even getting him a caretaker they took the easy way of just deciding he was never going to fit into society; I like to imagine they saw his 'crippling' autism as some sort of reason to keep him locked indoors akin Chunk from The Goonies. Bob's age in the probably played a huge factor, though, seeing as he came from a generation where you kept simpletons on a short leash lest they choke puppies to death and accidentally kill the farmers wife like in 'Of Mice and Men'. Of course I really don't blame Bob for how Chris turned out. That's all on Barb in my eyes. In fact I have a hypothetical theory on that, but I'll share that below.

This is pretty much all speculation with some information gleaned from the wiki. Now it's no surprise that Barb is lazy. We see this all the time. Cole was born in 1963 from her promiscuous nature and Barb seemed to attach herself to anyone willing to associate with her. Now Chris as mentioned before that Bob has some patents to his name. If they were his in all legality (as in he produced them at home using his own resources or designed them from scratch) there's a chance the company bought them from him for a sizable stipend or paid out monthly residuals. Now imagine he flaunting this shit around, pretty full of himself. Barb seems like the kind of person that looks for the easy way out and what better way to earn a free ride than get knocked up by some sucker with cash? I wouldn't put it past Bob to be old fashioned and decided to marry the hambeast and raise his spawn. Of course given the amount of drinking they were doing she probably didn't notice morning sickness until the bump started coming in. So yeah, she latched on and started sucking him dry while Bob did everything in his power to budget shit because money doesn't last forever if you keep spending it. She was always buying Chris toys, some of which he's still holding onto, and until his autism bux kicked in I wouldn't doubt Barb was spoiling him all the time.
TL;DR Barb is a pariah that leeched the life out of Bob.

Bob and Barb were married in 1980, two years before Chris was born. That being said, he was an engineer, and would have likely been making decent money at the time.

although what Bob had learned about engineering in the 40/50s was probably obsolete in the early 80s, much like the CAD associates degree is now, what good things did Bob bring to life when he was at GE?

No. Sorry, but I have to vehemently disagree. Chris is one of the most stressed persons in this planet because he clings like a bear-trap to his personal values -- which happen to be the values of a child or a madman.

If Chris actually cared about peace of mind, he would have stayed away from the Internet the moment it became troublesome. He would have stopped his lovequest after the first altercation with jerkops. He would have never rejected his church that accepted him as he was and perhaps today he would be some sort of autistic monk.

Instead Chris lives in a world of stress, anger, sadness and fear because he cares about status (being recognized as "true and honest Sonichu creator"), he cares about money (to buy a new console) and he wants to make something out of himself (a true lesbian transwoman that is recognized as such and admired and desired by hot lesbians).

To someone with an adult mind Chris life may seem simple and trouble-free, but for him, in his childish crazy world, he's knee-deep in the rat race.
