Recently there is a lot of talk on mastodon about how automated content "scraping" - which to these people can be literally anything including reposting "boosts" (mastodon retweets) to your twitter timeline - is breaking of consent. So yeah. If you screenshot someone's post, for some of them that's literally rape.
Which I would understand if it was on twitter, where you have the choice to have your profile fully public (not gonna go into Circles) or fully private with follow requests. Now on mastodon you can have 4 privacy levels of posts - Global, Unlisted (not shown on instance public timelines, but shown on your profile), Private (followers only, cannot be boosted) and Direct Message (visible only to @'ed people, cannot be boosted). And you would think that they would use these tiers based on how intimate the posting is. But no, they all have it set to default and then complain when you "scrape", whatever that means, their post.

I was screwing around the Fediverse, and stumbled upon our dear friend, Kevin Beaumont (known in Twitter as @gossithedog) a known dude in the cybersecurity sphere, and more importantly, one of the top dogs for the #DropKiwiFarms campaign.
