The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have announced they will step back as "senior" royals and work to become financially independent.

In a statement, Prince Harry and Meghan also said they plan to split their time between the UK and North America.

The BBC understands no other royal - including the Queen or Prince William - was consulted before the statement and Buckingham Palace is "disappointed".

Senior royals are understood to be "hurt" by the announcement.

In their unexpected statement on Wednesday, also posted on their Instagram page, the couple said they made the decision "after many months of reflection and internal discussions".

"We intend to step back as 'senior' members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen."

They said they plan to balance their time between the UK and North America while "continuing to honour our duty to the Queen, the Commonwealth, and our patronages".

"This geographic balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter, including the launch of our new charitable entity."

A Buckingham Palace spokeswoman said discussions with the duke and duchess on their decision to step back were "at an early stage", adding: "We understand their desire to take a different approach, but these are complicated issues that will take time to work through."

The couple's announcement on Wednesday comes two months after the Duke of York withdrew from public life after a BBC interview about his ties to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, who killed himself in August.

For all kiwi britbongs out there... I bet you are happy that you have Prince William instead of this moron as next king.
I can't really say a lot about William, but he come across as way more mature then his dipshit brother.
By a wide margin, William may not be perfect but he is a far better heir compared to his trainwreck of a brother

Again, can't reply to @LordofTendons but the book having William repeatedly use "Harold" over Harry's real name of Henry, especially when it's allegedly done several times in front of their father, has me thinking that whoever wrote this book (probably Meghan) has no idea what Harry's real name is. This is an absolute train wreck and I love it.

Oh definately. Will and Kate are way better. It probably helps they don’t piss off The Business so they are willing to sweep Will and Kate shit under the rug.

The Telegraph: Harry says he killed 25 in Afghanistan

Prince Harry reveals he killed 25 people in Afghanistan

Duke of Sussex says in his autobiography, Spare, that in the heat of combat he did not think of the 25 as 'people' but 'chess pieces'

Prince Harry has disclosed that he killed 25 people in his role as an Apache helicopter pilot during his second tour of duty in Afghanistan.
The Duke of Sussex says in his autobiography, Spare, that he flew on six missions that resulted in “the taking of human lives”, something of which he is neither proud nor ashamed.

He says that in the heat of combat he did not think of the 25 as “people” but instead as “chess pieces” that had been taken off the board.
It is the first time the Prince, 38, has discussed the number of Taliban fighters he personally killed during his military service, and is likely to increase concern about his personal safety.

The Prince has long been regarded as a terrorist target not only because of his royal status but also because of his two deployments to Afghanistan, which have made him a target for Islamist terrorist organisations.

Last year he took legal action over the Home Office’s decision not to provide full police protection for him and his family when visiting the UK. His barrister said he “does not feel safe” when he is in the UK, having lost his taxpayer-funded security when he and his wife gave up royal duties.

His book is due for publication on Jan 10, but it has already gone on sale in Spain, where The Telegraph bought a Spanish language copy from a bookshop.

Prince describes watching video of each 'kill'

Writing about his time in Afghanistan, the Prince describes watching video of each “kill” when he returned to base, as a nose-mounted video camera on his Apache helicopter recorded each mission in full.

Prince describes watching video of each 'kill'

Writing about his time in Afghanistan, the Prince describes watching video of each “kill” when he returned to base, as a nose-mounted video camera on his Apache helicopter recorded each mission in full.

He says that in the “din and confusion of combat” he saw the insurgents he killed as “baddies eliminated before they could kill goodies”. It is not possible to kill someone “if you see them as a person”, he says, but the Army had “trained me to ‘other’ them and they had trained me well.”

He adds that: “I made it my purpose, from day one, to never go to bed with any doubt whether I had done the right thing…whether I had shot at Taliban and only Taliban, without civilians in the vicinity. I wanted to return to Great Britain with all my limbs, but more than that I wanted to get home with my conscience intact.”

He says that in war soldiers do not usually know how many enemies they have killed, but “in the era of Apaches and laptops” he was able to say “with exactness how many enemy combatants I had killed. And it seemed to me essential not to be afraid of that number.

“So my number is 25. It’s not a number that fills me with satisfaction, but nor does it embarrass me.”

Part of his reason for feeling no guilt about taking lives, he says, is that he never forgot being in the TV room at Eton, watching news coverage of the 9/11 attacks on New York, and later meeting the families of victims of the attacks on visits to America.

He describes those responsible for the attacks, and their sympathisers, as “enemies of humanity”, and says that fighting them was an act of vengeance for one of the worst crimes in human history.

He writes that the only shots he thought twice about were the ones he had not taken, and in particular being unable to help his Gurkha “brothers” on an occasion when they were under fire from the Taliban and a communications failure meant he was not able to help them.

He complains about military bureaucracy, detailing an occasion when he witnessed around 30 Taliban blow up a lorry and was denied permission to fire on the enemy.

The Prince was deployed as a forward air controller in Helmand province during his first tour of duty in 2007-08, which was cut short when foreign news organisations breached a news blackout that had been agreed with the British media.

In 2012, after learning to fly Apache helicopters, he was deployed to Camp Bastion in southern Afghanistan with the Army Air Corps, staying for 20 weeks. He said at the time that killing insurgents was part of his job, and that “we fire when we have to, take a life to save a life”.

The Taliban said at the time that it had told its commanders in Helmand “to do whatever they can to eliminate him”.

Security experts have said that the Prince remains a top target for terrorists because of his military service, and the fact that he has chosen to reveal his personal tally is likely to increase those fears.

Duke suffered from trench foot

Writing about his military training, the Prince reveals that he suffered from trench foot during an exercise in Wales when he slept in the open and was caught in a downpour.

“I noticed that my feet were burning”, he writes. “I sat on the floor, took off my right boot and sock and saw that the sole of my foot was raw.”

Another soldier told him he would not be able to carry on, and he went to a medical station where he was told he would have to pull out of the march, which left him “dejected, although I’ll admit also relieved”.

His sergeant, however, told him he should push on, so he taped up his feet and took “among the most difficult steps I have ever taken on this planet” to get to the finish.

The Guardian: Harry says woman "with powers" relayed message from Diana to him

Prince Harry says woman with ‘powers’ relayed message from Diana

Exclusive: Harry writes in autobiography Spare of being told he was ‘living the life she couldn’t … the life she wanted for you’

In his highly anticipated autobiography, Spare, Prince Harry describes how his sadness over the death of his mother, Princess Diana, led him to seek help from a woman who “claimed to have ‘powers’” and to be able to relay a message.

“You’re living the life she couldn’t,” Harry says the woman told him. “You’re living the life she wanted for you.”
Diana was killed in a car crash in Paris in 1997, when Harry was 12.

Now 38, Harry will publish Spare next week. Amid reports of highly restrictive security around the release of the book, the Guardian obtained a copy.

The description of the visit to the woman – about whom Harry does not use words like “psychic” or “medium” – comes late in the 400-page book, amid the prince’s account of his marriage to Meghan Markle, an American actor, and troubled relations with the royal family including what he says was a physical attack against him by his brother, Prince William.

Harry writes about his mother and his grief throughout his book, at one point describing repeated drives through the tunnel in Paris in which she died, in an attempt to understand what happened.

His account of what he says was a conversation with his dead mother is short. Harry, who now lives in Los Angeles, does not say where the meeting happened, or when. He does not name the woman involved.

The prince says he “recognised the high-percentage chance of humbuggery” but went to meet the woman because trusted friends recommended her.

“The minute we sat down together,” he writes, “I felt an energy around her.”

The prince says the woman told him she felt an energy around him too, and said: “Your mother is with you.”
Harry replied: “I know. I’ve felt that of late.”

The woman, he writes, told him his mother was with him “right now”. Harry says his neck grew warm and his eyes watered.

The woman told Harry his mother knew he was “looking for clarity” and “feels your confusion”, and knew he had “so many questions”, and said answers would come in time.

The prince also says the woman told him Diana said: “You’re living the life she couldn’t. You’re living the life she wanted for you.”

Harry, who in his book also describes endless clashes with the press amid trips to London clubs and visits to Africa, Europe and Hollywood, and admits to regular drinking and drug-taking, says he wanted to believe the woman but needed “proof. A sign. Anything.”

One such sign offered by the woman involved a story about an ornament, and a claim that his mother knew about it because “she was there”.
Earlier in the book, Harry recounts how a Christmas tree ornament in the shape of his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, was accidentally smashed by his son, Archie.

The woman, he writes, repeated that his mother was there when the incident happened, saying: “Your mother says … something about a Christmas ornament? Of a mother? Or a grandmother? It fell? Broke?”

Harry said: “Archie tried to fix it.”

The woman said: “Your mother says she had a bit of a giggle about that.”

After the Guardian broke the first details of Spare on Wednesday night, the book briefly appeared for sale in Spain, leading to other news outlets obtaining copies.

The Sun: Harry says Camilla leaked stories and campaigned to marry Charles and get crown

CAM CLAIMS

Prince Harry shockingly accuses Camilla of leaking stories and claims she launched campaign to marry Charles & get crown

The Sun scooped the world by getting hold of a Spanish copy of the book everyone wants to read today.

We can reveal it includes claims that, despite Harry and William's protestations, a campaign begun for the marriage to happen and for Camilla to become Queen.

The duke says that he and William promised Charles they would welcome Camilla into the family - but the only thing they asked in exchange is that he didn’t marry her.

Harry claimed they approved of Camilla but begged Charles not to get married for a second time after the death of their mother Diana.
Charles did not respond, he alleges.

Harry also claims the brothers had been aware of Camilla as the "other woman" and both had separate meetings with her.

And in another bombshell, he accuses Camilla of leaking details of her conversation with William to the press.

He says the information could only have come from the communications person that Camilla convinced his dad to hire.

Incredibly, he compared seeing Camilla for the first time to the reaction to avoiding the pain of getting an injection by writing "this is nothing, close your eyes and you won’t even feel it".

Revealing the private meeting, he claims Camilla appeared "bored" when they met saying that it was "pure formality" as he was not the heir or a major obstacle but that they had small chat about horses.

In his book, Harry says he pondered whether Camilla would be his “wicked step-mother”.

But he claimed the brothers would be willing to forgive her in “their hearts” if she could make Charles happy.

Speaking about Charles, he claims his father opened up about being bullied at school and "nearly never made it" but carried teddies around all of the time to cope.

Charles finally married Camilla in 2005 and last year Queen Elizabeth II said it was her sincere wish for Camilla to take on the title Queen Consort.

The explosive revelations in Harry's book include:
  • Prince Harry’s bombshell book accidentally goes on sale early in Spain – and The Sun has one of the first copies
  • Prince Harry claimed his brother William 'attacked' him in a row over Meghan Markle
  • Harry called his therapist instead of Meghan after the confrontation with his brother
  • Charles pleaded with Harry and William not to 'make his final years a misery'
  • The Duke of Sussex revealed the nicknames he uses with William
  • Harry claimed William and Kate Middleton encouraged him to wear the infamous Nazi uniform

Sky News Live Updates: Harry admits he took cocaine

Prince Harry admits he took cocaine aged 17

Prince Harry has admitted for the first time that he has taken cocaine writing about his experiences as a teenager in his memoir Spare.

On pages 112 and 113 he wrote: "Of course I had been taking cocaine at that time. At someone's house, during a hunting weekend, I was offered a line, and since then I had consumed some more.

"It wasn't very fun, and it didn't make me feel especially happy as seemed to happen to others, but it did make me feel different, and that was my main objective. To feel. To be different.

"I was a seventeen-year-old willing to try almost anything that would alter the pre-established order.

"At least, that's what I was trying to convince myself of.

"At that time, I was as capable of lying to myself as I had lied to that staff member."

Daily Mail: "Who knows if I'm even your real father?"

Harry claims Charles joked 'Who is your real father?' amid rumour that he was the son of Princess Diana and her ex-lover Major James Hewitt

  • Duke of Sussex recounts an anecdote Charles gave about a visit to an asylum
  • King told a patient, 'you can't be the Prince of Wales, I am the Prince of Wales'
  • After recounting the anecdote Harry discusses rumours about his paternity

Prince Harry uses his memoirs to discuss his mother Diana's affair with Major James Hewitt and claims his father Charles joked, 'Who knows if I'm even your real father' after meeting a mentally ill man who claimed he was the real Prince of Wales.

In Spare, which was accidentally released today in Spain, the Duke of Sussex says Charles 'liked to tell anecdotes' and that 'one of his best' was a story of a visit to a mental asylum where he met a man claiming to be the Prince of Wales.

According to the Duke's recounting of the story, Charles wagged his finger at the patient and said 'let's see, you can't be the Prince of Wales, I am the Prince of Wales' only for the man to 'respond with the same gesture'.

Harry writes that his father liked to end his stories with a 'philosophical flash', and in this case pondered whether anyone could be sure they weren't themselves 'living in a fantasy'.

According to the Duke's retelling, Charles then joked: 'Who knows if I'm even your real father? Perhaps your father really is in Broadmoor, my dear son!' Harry wrote that the joke was 'in poor taste' given the rumour going around at the time that his real father was James Hewitt.

Mr Hewitt had a five-year affair with Princess Diana when he was a young Household Cavalry officer, from 1986 to 1991.

This was confirmed by the Princess of Wales during the now-infamous Panorama interview with disgraced journalist Martin Bashir.
Harry's resemblance to the Army officer led to claims he was a product of the affair.

In his memoirs, the prince says the rumours continued even though 'my mother hadn't met Major Hewitt until long after I was born'.
He adds that if Charles thought anything about Major Hewitt he 'kept it to himself'.

Elsewhere in the memoir, Harry claimed he and William 'begged' Charles not to marry Camilla after Princess Diana's death, fearing that she would be their 'wicked stepmother'.

The Duke alleges that he and his brother would not stand in the way of the then-Prince of Wales's relationship but had asked him not to walk down the aisle for the second time, calling Camilla the 'Other Woman'.

Charles had tried to 'win over the kids' before asking the public to accept Camilla, the book claims.

Harry claims that meeting her for the first time was like an 'injection', writing: 'Close your eyes and you won't even feel it.'

Harry also uses the book to accuse his older brother of being the aggressor during Megxit, claiming their relationship has become so strained and damaged that the Prince of Wales would only 'scowl' at him.

The Duke reveals that he held a secret meeting with William and Charles hours after the funeral of Prince Philip in April 2021 - close to the grave of King Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson - but said his father and brother wouldn't listen to him and claimed not to understand why he had emigrated.

In Spain, Spare is called 'En La Sombra', which translates as 'In the Shadow', and begins with the dedication: 'For Meg, Archie and Lili... and, of course, my mother'

The book is not due out in the UK until Tuesday morning, but various excerpts have been leaked to the press.

Megan must be having an absolute breakdown right now... I mean full on screeching bunny-boiler fit. The sheer two-faced gall of this pair, on one hand sobbing dramatically about how the family has rejected reconciliatio, on the other hand slinging mud as fast as they can grab it.

Maybe Harry too, but even in these stories he's shown as a follower.
"Wear a Nazi costume because I said so."
"Okay"
"Here have cocaine."
"Okay"
etc. etc. etc.

Everything went off the rails when the Pandemic hit RIGHT after they flounced off. That started the whole house of cards falling, having the Queen cut off their first grift (that Sussex brand charity) was another blow, and they've been veering around like drunks ever since.

Pissing off The Queen so throughly she shuts your shit down rather publicly is something you just don’t do.

Of course they’ve been lost ever since. No one likes them. Everyone is just using them for gossip and the two of them are too stupid to see the damage it’s doing to them.

No one. Literally no one. Gives a fuck about them now.

Page Six: Harry loses his virginity to an older woman at 17 + Fascinating details of Frozen Penis in the Antarctic!

Prince Harry details losing his virginity to ‘older woman’ in ‘quick ride’

No details have been spared.

In his explosive new memoir “Spare,” Prince Harry detailed losing his virginity in a “quick” romp with an “older woman.”

“Inglorious episode,” the Duke of Sussex writes in the book, which hits shelves in the US on Jan. 10. “She liked horses, quite a lot, and treated me not unlike a young stallion.”

He continues, “Quick ride, after which she’d smacked my rump and sent me to grace.”

Harry, 38, seemed to look back on the experience negatively.

“Among the many things about it that were wrong. It happened in a grassy field behind

While he didn’t identify the woman by name or say when the brief dalliance occurred, rumors have swirled for years that he lost his virginity to Elizabeth Hurley, who is 19 years older than the royal, when he was a teenager.

However, Hurley, 57, vehemently denied the speculation in December.

Harry famously dated girlfriend Chelsy Davy, 37, on and off from 2004 to 2011. He was also romantically linked to the late Caroline Flack, Camila Romestrand and Ellie Goulding before striking up his relationship with his now-wife Meghan Markle in 2016.

Elsewhere in his tome, Harry speaks candidly about his penis and even shuts down longstanding rumors that he and his brother Prince William were uncircumcised.

“My penis was a matter of public record, and indeed some public curiosity,” Harry writes. “The press had written about it extensively. There were countless stories in books, and papers (even The New York Times) about Willy and me not being circumcised.”

He adds, “Mummy had forbidden it, they all said, and while it’s absolutely true that the chance of getting penile frostbite is much greater if you’re not circumcised, all the stories were false. I was snipped as a baby.”

Harry had been discussing how his penis was “frostnipped” during his trip to Antarctica prior to William’s wedding to Kate Middleton.

“The pre-wedding dinner was pleasant, jolly, despite Willy visibly suffering from standard groom jitters,” he says. “I regaled the company with tales of the [South] Pole. Pa was very interested and sympathetic about the discomfort of my frostnipped ears and cheeks, and it was an effort not to overshare and tell him also about my equally tender penis.

“Upon arriving home I’d been horrified to discover that my nether regions were frostnipped as well, and while the ears and cheeks were already healing, the todger wasn’t.”

Harry has made several controversial claims in his impending memoir that is due to drop next week.

The Duke of Sussex accused his dad, King Charles III, of calling him a “spare” and saying his work was done after Princess Diana gave birth to him.

Harry also claimed that William and Kate, both 40, played a part in his infamous decision to wear a Nazi uniform to a costume party in 2005.

And referring to William as his “beloved brother and archnemesis,” Harry also alleges in the book that William physically attacked him after getting into a quarrel over Markle in 2019.

“He grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and he knocked me to the floor,” Harry claimed of William. “I landed on the dog’s bowl, which cracked under my back, the pieces cutting into me,” he adds. “I lay there for a moment, dazed, then got to my feet and told him to get out.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been feuding with members of the royal family after stepping back as senior royals in 2020. Harry and Markle have since moved to California with son Archie, 3, and daughter Lilibet, 1.

Tensions grew when the Sussexes sat for a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021 and accused Buckingham Palace of doing nothing when Markle came forward about having suicidal thoughts.

And Harry and Markle dished on their royal family woes in their recent Netflix docuseries “Harry & Meghan,” where they talked about the struggles of being in the public eye and having little privacy as royals.

The palace told Page Six it will not be commenting on any of Harry’s accusations in his book.

When I left the house this morning the buzz was that this was the most closely guarded book evar EVAR. Now these papers are popping up claiming to have "obtained copies." I assume Meghan sent it to them. Harry is now claiming Will and Kate told him to wear the Nazi costume in 2005.

If I laugh any more tonight I'm going to stroke out.

Prince Harry sensationally puts some of the blame for his Nazi uniform scandal on his brother, Prince William, and his sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, in his new memoir, sources tell Page Six.

The Duke of Sussex will claim the Prince and Princess of Wales “howled with laughter” when they saw him dressed up for the 2005 party.

Harry was 20 years old when The Sun newspaper published a front-page photo of him dressed as a Nazi soldier with a red armband emblazoned with a big swastika.

The picture was taken at a costume party with a “Native and Colonial” theme, where William was also a guest and was dressed in a homemade lion outfit.

In one segment of the book, obtained by Page Six, Harry writes about choosing the outfit, revealing that it was a toss-up between two costumes: a pilot uniform or a Nazi uniform.

“I phoned Willy and Kate, asked what they thought. Nazi uniform, they said,” Harry writes, adding that when he went home and tried it on for them. “They both howled. Worse than Willy’s leotard outfit! Way more ridiculous! Which, again, was the point.”

Harry, now 38, is expected to go into detail for the first time about his fallout with his older brother following the ensuing storm. Other book sources confirm that there is also a “good chunk” about both Kate and his stepmother, Queen Consort Camilla Parker-Bowles.

Prince Harry was 20 when he was caught up in the Nazi costume storm on the cover of The Sun newspaper.

Although the Duke of Sussex has called the Nazi incident “one of the biggest mistakes in my life,” one senior publishing source who has read Harry’s “Spare” told us, “It’s strange as you would think that Harry would take ownership of this and just move on and not drag his brother into it, but he makes it clear that he feels strongly about William’s role in the scandal.”

Royal Historian Robert Lacey had previously written that the first sign of trouble between the brothers came when Harry was forced to bear the brunt of public outrage over his Nazi costume — even though William helped choose the outfit.

“Harry chose his costume in conjunction with his elder brother — the future King William V, then 22, who had laughed all the way back to Highgrove (Charles’ country home) with the younger sibling he was supposed to be mentoring — and then onwards to the party together,” Lacey wrote in his 2020 book “Battle of Brothers.”

He talked about how Harry began to feel alienated from his family following the incident, as the book said, “The young prince began re-evaluating his elder brother’s involvement and the unfairness of William’s subsequent emergence smelling of roses.”

“It made Harry feel resentful and even alienated,” Lacey wrote, claiming that William was the one who would “coax” Harry into his “errant and self-destructive ways.”

“For the first time, their relationship really suffered and they barely spoke,” one former aide told Lacey. “Harry resented the fact that William got away so lightly.”

The fallout sparked “no speaks” between the pair in the ensuing years, as Harry repeatedly resented being painted as the “comical fall guy” to his brother’s “glittering hero,” the book claimed.

So therefore it was not Harry’s wife who was the impetus for the issues with Harry and his family, Lacey wrote.

“He already had very solid reasons to get shot [get rid] of the rest of us and our smiling assumptions of the inferior — and actually rather demeaning — role that he should be grateful to play. Truly a ‘spare’ in more than one sense.”

In another bombshell excerpt from his upcoming biography, Harry revealed how his brother hit him as they came to blows over Markle.

The Guardian published an excerpt Wednesday in which Harry claimed that the new Prince of Wales grabbed him by the collar and threw him to the floor during a fight, which left him with visible injuries.

The fight allegedly broke out at his London home in 2019, after William branded Markle “difficult,” “rude” and “abrasive.”

“Spare” hits stores Jan. 10.
What a little bitch. "They laughed at my ridiculous nazi costume!" So? You wore it, dickhead. That's such a stupid excuse, trying to pass the buck on something that he shouldn't even apologize for in the first place. But because it's "current year" and some things are off limits blah blah "punching down", he's now trying to put guilt on his brother and his wife. What a faggot. I wonder if this was his idea or Meghan's? Cuz it's retarded.
In his explosive new memoir “Spare,” Prince Harry detailed losing his virginity in a “quick” romp with an “older woman.”
All that money, plus the status that comes with being royalty, and he lost his virginity to some old bag. What a loser.

I know that for all practical purposes Harry doesn't count as a royal anymore, but for God's sake have a teaspoon of dignity. The world doesn't need to know that you, a royal prince, were some older lady's booty call. We don't need to know about you getting dick frostbite. Ffs.

Does he not realize that every single one of these anecdotes just makes him look deeply, deeply pathetic? Is he trying to get sympathy by broadcasting to the whole world that he's everyone's bitch?

More fiction from Haz:
According to Harry William and Kate were huge Suits fans!

When the “Harry & Meghan” stars began dating two years prior to their nuptials, Prince William and Kate Middleton allegedly had a surprising reaction to the news.

The Prince of Wales, 40, allegedly told his younger brother to “f–k off,” Harry writes in “Spare.”

“I was baffled, until Willy and Kate explained that they were regular — nay, religious — viewers of ‘Suits,'” he recalls, joking that he was worried “about the wrong thing” and was not expecting them to “barrage” him with questions.

“All this time I’d thought Willy and Kate might not welcome Meg into the family, but now I had to worry about them hounding her for an autograph,” the prince explains.

Yes I’m sure your brother and sister-in-law, the future king and queen of England, were fucking dazzled and gobsmacked that you were dating the seventh billed actress on a middling basic cable drama of which they just happened to be rabid fans who never missed an ep.

Anyone going to read it?
It’ll be all over the press for bloody weeks so no need to.
He’s a fool. The ‘spare’ in many ways wins the game: all the prestige and money and connections and far less of the duty. He was born into unimaginable privilege and all he has to do is obey protocol and not screw up too badly. He doesn’t have the responsibility of being king, he’s still top of the tree, almost and he could have lived an amazing life with any bit of well bred aristocratic skirt he wanted.
Instead he’s burned his bridges, insulted an institution that’s still pretty well regarded here, and offended the current and future kings, and their wives. Say what you want about William and Catherine but they’ve nailed the inoffensive, squeaky clean never complain or explain thing Liz had down pat. I have no idea what her opinions are on anything becasue she knows to keep quiet.
Harry has failed to have self restraint and he’s doing his darnedest to rubbish what is a close knit and extremely powerful circle. If he’s very, very lucky she’ll ditch him and run off with her Onassis and he can crawl back contrite and try to beg forgiveness.
Kind Hearts and Coronets.
Excellent taste in films. I approve
