Anime/Manga - Discuss Japanese cartoons and comics here; NO CULTURE WAR DOOMPOSTING!

I’m predicting now that in 2023, we will have more additions of delinquent anime/manga in the same realm as to how gyarus and harems were more popular in the recent years — the latter being quietly popular than the former.

Tokyo Revengers is still selling units even after most of the fans critiqued the ending just being “Meh…” at best, but me personally, I’m going back to the classics:

- Crows
- Worst
- A-Bout
- Out
- Bouncer

I already know about some popular ones like Worst Gaiden Mr.Zetton, Be-Bop High School and Kyō Kara ore Wa!!, for example. But as I said before, the year of the delinquent could be on the rise for sure. It’s just a matter of picking and choosing which one suits you best.

Correction: delinquents as leads in isekai. Imagine characters from GTO, Peach Girl, School Rumble and Cromartie in a fantasy setting. ANN I mean recent year not past ANN and Twitter might likely whine about "toxicity" in those shows.

Current reviews this winter so far
Tomo-chan: pretty good so far, the VAs do a good job and it's also anti-tranny as the tomboy doesn't want to be thought off as a boy. Also I believe in Tomboy supremacy Joshua "Coomer" Moon.

Ningen Fushin: checked this out as a recommendation and so far so good. 4 fantasy adventures forced to be in a party because no one else wanted them.

Oniochan wa Oshimai; tranime to the extreme. Good lord this is worst than I thought I'd be. Hits several fetishist episode one and definitely made for the American Troon movement. Jersh should review this and no one tell him the set up.

Revenger: an original work that's jap wank but not moe. Enjoyed the first episode

Jesus this anime season looks bleak. The most interesting thing is the Kiseki anime, everything else is Isekai/villainess, gay couple with a kid anime, my power fantasy anime, and Monsters Lives Matter.

I want to say that if it was for troons then the it would have been a male identifying as a female, but it's obvious to all of us by now the majority of trannies are just living out their sick sexual fantasies.

I remember following the Tomo-Chan manga for a while, even for a series that released daily it felt like nothing ever happened

Nigger we have the Nier Automata anime airing tomorrow.

I didn't watch S2 but I'm curious now. What happened?
Remember how the point of S1 was that the Sybil System was all kinds of fucked up for multiple reasons? The point of S2 was "No, no, it'll be just fine, as long as the system is supposed to judge the "collective Psycho-Pass of society" instead of passing judgment on individuals. It, uh, doesn't really define what that's actually supposed to mean, but it seems like they wanted to combine the massive surveillance state with "it's not their fault, it's just their upbringing, your honor" and call that progress.

This 2nd OP of 2023 Urusei Yatsura almost feels like it is in the spirit of the classic with the dances

I'm a fan but I think both the OP and the ED are weaker than the first one, maybe I'll come to grow to it but I wasn't expecting 4 OPs and EDs for this series.

It had so many issues that I was just dragging myself through it. However, my main tipping point was when Risa Aoyanagi died, specially with how pathetic it was for such a good character. I was on verge of dropping but my completionist nature fucked me over (it has done worse to me). Then there's the boring story, retarded characters at times, lack of Kogami, etc..

I remember watching the movie & it felt like it an apology by the series for making fans suffer through S2. I love the Engrish so much, it's unreal. Only redditors watch the Engrish Eradication version of it.

I didn't even bother with S3 when it aired cause I just subconsciously had an intuition that I'll just hate it. I don't even know how worse S3 is, I kinda wish someone just spoils me at this on it cause I lack the courage to even bother with Psycho Pass at all apart from anything that is not the OST, Engrish, Dominator, or Hentai. You need to aim an Assault Dominator at me to make me watch it.
I read the manga version of pp s2 and I liked it

but I like tow ubukata way more than gen.
Mardock scramble is cool as hell

The Love Live! Nijigasaki Nijiyon Animation has premiered:

Also, the original Love Live! School Idol Project anime is officially 10 years old now.
Is the new LL stuff worth watching?
I enjoyed the original but haven't watched any of the series post-Sunshine.

I haven't watched the shows in full, so I can't say if you should watch them or not. I did hear that SuperStar!! has issues with the pacing, which is more noticeable in Season 2.

Speaking of LL, Nordstrom appears to be selling a shirt that has a picture of Riko, and it appears to have been stolen art, and is not official LL merchandise:

And here's the art that was stolen, one of Riko's cards in SIF:

The fact that the word ENERGY was misspelled, makes it even more obvious that the art was stolen.

And this wasn't the first time merchandise featuring stolen LL! art was sold, as there was also the Billie Eilish Nozomi Merchandise scandal in 2019.

Well, considering that one of the "gay couple" raising said kid has sex with multiple women in the space of one episode and also , I'd like to correct you there. But yeah, there's a metric ton of every kind of isekai and villainess possible and nothing great this season.

I started watching Revenger without knowing that Gen Urobuchi wrote it but it stood out to me how immediately gory and full of suffering it was so when I entered the /a/ thread and I saw anons bringing it up I thought to myself "Well, that explains it."

I just happened to find out that Anime Awards 2023 is a real thing, but then I found out that 9anime has their own awards show and I saw this on my screen:

In what world is Shikimori the worst anime to them?

And why would you put The Rising Of The Shield Hero Season 2 in the same breath as Rent-A-Girlfriend and leave the bunch of unknowns to dust so no one will ever hear of the probable obscure anime on the list?
