Why does Chris care about Playstation Trophies? I realize this can really be applied to any trophy whore, but I'm more interested in why Chris cares.

There's no point to trophies, other than bragging about how big your e-penis is. Well, Chris doesn't talk to people online anymore unless he "knows" them. So who is he bragging to exactly? No one.

There's no reward at all for trophies, so I fail to understand why he cares so much about earning them? Is it an autistic thing? He'd rather work at succeeding at something false and worthless, rather than working toward succeeding at something in real life? Or is it part of his compulsive hoarding nature ?

Probably because vidya trophies are the biggest accomplishments Chris will ever manage and he knows it.

I don't know. I am a complete non gamer, but I still try to get trophies on the shitty iOS games I noodle around with on the bus. And noone sees my progress on those. It just a way to "progress" through instead of doing the same things over and over again.

Isn't this normal? Or am I weird like Chris?

Nah. Chris just wants trophies because he, like you and I, enjoys hitting those little targets and uses them to measure his progress. This is pretty normal for gamers, and doesn't necessarily suggest he's trying to show off to anyone.

I was thinking we have been following Chris for almost a decade and still don't know how the duck got bent. No galpals ever asked this, no trolls probed for an answer. I need to know

Could just be naturally born that way. It's normal for ducks to not be perfectly symmetrical, his is probably just born extremely not so.

Does my girlfriend know about Chris?

I've been following Chris' antics for years, but I've been afraid to tell my girlfriend about it. She has an autistic brother, so I figure Christory would offend her.

However, we were looking at cringe videos/pictures, and I randomly showed her a picture of "Golden Age" (soccer shirt, Sonichu medallion, pre-fire, pre-tomgirl) Chris over the weekend without any additional comment, and her only response was, "wow, he looks like he's turning into a lesbian".

Could it be? Does my girlfriend already know about Chris? I'm afraid to ask, because if I'm wrong, it could mean big trouble on the homefront. How would you approach this delicate situation?

Here's a question. If Chris was to finally find the woman of his dreams (and by a long stretch, said woman would actually want to be with him), how much would you want to bet that said encounter would mould his psyche even more?

A couple months ago, I was chatting to a friend of mine who is a fairly serious journalist. Chris came up, and her opinion was it was a minefield.

Any serious piece would have to portray him largely as a victim. As much as people like to say "Chris deserves it", can you honestly see a serious news outlet talking about some autistic guy being trolled and saying he deserves it?

On the other hand Chris is a fairly unsympathetic character. And hasn't had the single super-tragic troll moment where trolls drove him to serious self-harm or something. So what's the angle?

There are also ethical concerns about validating various self-delusions Chris has.

There is also an issue of cooperation from Chris and/or Barb. Getting them involved would be a nightmare.

Writing such a story would probably fill your inbox with "Julays" and similar bullshit.

Finally, it's not an important news-story. Nothing major has come of Christory, so it's only human interest. The world is full of human interest stories, so why bother with one with all of these pitfalls.
