You didn't have every other thread on the board devolve into weird political shit flinging pre-2016. I think that's one of the worst aspects of new 4chan. It's inescapable on the major boards. It's not because I hate /pol/ or their views it's because it really just shits up the board with low quality trash posts and threads.

I feel it's been said a billion times already, but the US Elections of 2016 was the end of 4chan, because all the media made it out as this "super secret club of hackers/racists/trolls/etc" so a bunch of teens and the like flooded to it to be in the cool kids table, only for them to slowly become the majority of various boards, and that's the exact same fear I have with KF now after the whole media campaign against it, where it will be like 4chan and retarded people will come in and shit it up even more with glowposting and bait/derail posts because they think KF is the new "cool kids club" because the media painted it in a bad light.

Because Kiwifarms requires you to register an account and you aren't truly anonymous because you have a username and identity it filters out some of the worst types of spammers and shitposters that 4chan has been plagued with for years. It requires far more effort to keep reregistering then to reset your modem or clear your cookies like on 4chan. If you see someone with a super new account register and they're making retarded posts it's easy ignore them or ban them. You can't do that on an imageboard. KF also self-polices with Halal threads and bad posters are shunned and bullied.

Yes, /k/ is full of shills. It's known that /meg/ (Military Enlistment General) has actual military recruiters posting there looking for easy marks and I'm sure many other threads are regularly targeted by US government shilling. Might even be second to /pol/ in terms of the numbers of shills.

I just will always find it funny whenever there's a mass shooting or the like, both /pol/ and /k/ will point fingers at each other, when both are known to be full of shills, if a /pol/ or /k/ regular claims their board isn't full of glowies or shills, they're lying, as both are full of redditors as well (more so ironic on /pol/s part with how much they rant about reddit, yet most of them are from the days of r/donald and the like).

Nah. People hated Hillary pretty much from the get-go. Back in early '93 there was some interview with newly elected Bill and Hillary, and Hillary was very much talking about "our presidency" (and amusingly, some flavor of universal healthcare if I recall correctly!) and she immediately became a target of hate by the Republicans for being an annoying, entitled harridan. I'd say /v/ has improved marginally in the "talk about videogames" regard. In 2016-2018 political shitflinging was truly INESCAPABLE, election tourists took a while to settle down.

You're missing the other half of the equation: extremely blatant newfags insisting /k/ become a brigading space that exists to cheerlead against Russia. I've been on /k/ longer than /news/ ever existed. It's very easy to spot people who love to study & discuss an ongoing war versus dogmatic faggots with a faction bias. It's especially obvious in this sad new era where we can confirm groups are paid to astroturf places like 4chan all because some thinktank correctly identified /pol/ played a large-ish role in helping Donald Trump's campaign appear palatable.
