EU Hungary just canceled income tax for new moms in their 20s. It's the country's latest attempt to fix its long-term labor shortage. - "As of January, women in Hungary who become mothers under the age of 30 "will be exempt from paying personal income tax" for the rest of their lives, Balázs Orbán, political director of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán"

Buisiness Insider:
  • Hungary is eliminating the income tax for mothers under the age of 30.
  • It's one of several moves the government has made in recent years to try and boost its birth rate.
  • The country is already facing a severe labor shortage.
In the United States, a declining birth rate and lower immigration have raised concerns that the labor shortage will persist in the years ahead.

It's far from the only country facing this problem, however. One European nation recently unveiled a new proposal it hopes will help turn the tide.

As of January, women in Hungary who become mothers under the age of 30 "will be exempt from paying personal income tax" for the rest of their lives, Balázs Orbán, political director of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, announced in a late December Tweet.

"Hungary extends its family-friendly policies," he said.

In the first quarter of 2022, a near-record high 87,000 jobs were reportedly left unfilled in Hungary, and the problem could persist in the decades to come. Since 1975, the country's fertility rate has fallen from 2.4 births per woman to 1.6 as of 2020, dipping below the 2.1 replacement rate required to maintain population growth absent an increase in immigration.

The situation has led the Hungarian government to make a series of moves in recent years in an effort to boost its workforce. It previously eliminated the income tax for workers until the age of 25 — to incentivize young workers to find jobs — and mothers with at least four children.

Tighter abortion laws have also accompanied Hungary's push to boost its birth rate. While abortion in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy has been legal in Hungary since 1953, the government issued a decree last September requiring abortion providers to provide mothers with "clearly identifiable indication of fetal vital signs" before they decide whether to terminate the pregnancy. It's possible additional restrictions could follow.

While increased immigration may be part of the answer, Hungary's immigration policies — which are among the strictest in Europe — have deterred some newcomers and are partially responsible for the labor shortage. The government has also been accused of anti-immigrant rhetoric, which likely hasn't helped attract immigrants either.

"For the West, the answer is immigration," Prime Minister Orbán said in 2019. "For every missing child there should be one coming in and then the numbers will be fine. But we do not need numbers. We need Hungarian children."

THIS is how you boost native ethnic population. This has been proven to work in countries like Hungary and IIRC Poland as well since I think they've suggested similar legislation. Take notes, American right and various EU countries with sizable nationalist movements. Don't take the easy route of importing the third world en masse.

Why young mothers specifically?

Rather, what's the larger context of this policy-- what other policies are being instituted (aside from those mentioned in this article) in order to promote family-making?

I understand what is the catch, but honestly, women should be having children in their 20s and it is a huge lifetime benefit for both the mother and the father for her to have income that is not taxed for her lifetime because both of them chose to have children in her 20s. I mean, it is an addition incentive for a man to marry a woman in addition for incentive for a woman to have a child. Most women will not go their whole lives never earning any money, no matter how trad they are.

Trying to do anything to look like he’s helping birth rates.

He’s also done away with income tax before 25 to help people get work (???) so I feel like this is becoming his go to move to look like he’s making a difference.

To encourage women to have children during the lowest risk age groups. As women get older the risks increase for both pregnancy complications and childhood outcomes. A woman over 35 has a greatly increased risk of having a developmentally disabled child, especially for genetic conditions like Downs Syndrome.

Hungarian looks really hard to learn. There's like 17 different cases for a single noun for tons of different contexts. It also isn't related to most European languages so doesn't have as many cognates or loanwords.

Which is a real shame because I love the geography and Hungary seems really based right now.

This is how you fix labor shortages. Immigration just imports lower average IQ and higher crime, and creates a low trust, contentious society. Sure, you'll have labor shortages for a few decades, but the rise in wages will increase the population and help increase taxes for better infrastructure (if your country isn't a corrupt shit hole).
American leadership hates whites and wants to eliminate them, so it will keep importing Chocolate-Americans until it collapses.

In the US we'd raise taxes to start a program to help mothers that only serves low income households with a limit to how many dependents(keyword) are in the household it can provide assistance for (unlimited if you're already a welfare nigger queen) and it's struggling for funding out of the gate because all the money went to the military and overseas already. If you don't vote me to raise taxes again to further fund this program you hate mothers and babies you evil baby hater.

Poorer countries like Hungary and Czechia are increasing the birthrate while France, Germany and Britbongistan keep raising taxes and importing more rapefugees every year while the natives die out.
And the globalist politicians are not even this agenda, they are proudly cheering the replacement on. According to the media this is a conspiracy theory.
