Allright.

Editing her comics was oddly calming. It was like deleting the evil from the world and replacing it with flowers and unicorns.

Anyway. Here are my edits. I'm not done yet! I need her to put out more comics so I can pad out the rest of the story. But I have an ending ready in case she suddenly stops.

This comic is barely edited, because I want to show you can make a good comic out of her crap with minimal changes.
All characters are still the same gender that they are in the original story. However the twist is that in my version, Sophie really just happens to be trans, because it's never ever mentioned. Like it should be.

This person is forgetting that autism is a wide spectrum of disorders. Whilst I agree that autism spectrum disorders such as Asperger's do need representation in mass media (:powerlevel: - I once wrote a story featuring a mary sue-ish main character who had asperger's and I had plans of developing it into a novel with the intention of getting it published because I wanted there to be more autistic fictional characters young kids could relate to) , would anybody really want to read a book centred on a severely autistic person? A factual book, yes, or a set of memoirs, but not a fictional book, unless in said fiction book the severely autistic character had another character (parent, teacher, sibling etc.) supporting them.

Also, no, I am not tired of reading about "neurotypical" characters. :powerlevel: Whilst the only book I have ever come across featuring an autistic character is The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime (which I am still yet to read), when I was reading Neuromancer last year for university my headcanon (I can't think of a better word to use, shoot me) for the novel's protagonist was that he was possibly autistic. Reading is all about using your imagination. Unless it's specifically stated by the author what a character looks like, how they act, how they dress etc., you can pretty much imagine a character any way you want.

Whilst the only book I have ever come across featuring an autistic character is The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime (which I am still yet to read)

I remember plenty of classmates of mine being annoyed with how The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime was written.

I'm pretty sure a book full of Autistic characters wouldn't go over well with most people based on that little story as well as my own experience with Autistic people. I've had to live in a house with twenty other Aspies at one point. It was less than glamorous.

Option Nationale huh, a separatist group. Color me surprised. It's a provincial party, for the provincial elections. They only had 2 guys elected apparently. It wasn't very big nor popular. Separatism is so 70s. Quebec is not good enough to stand on its own, sorry.

So she goes from acting like a kid who doesn't understand Stephies viewpoint and won't put up with her nonsense to suddenly becoming almost psychic and understanding exactly what Stephie expects of her and checks her privillege?

It could have been a good and relatable character for the audience Sophie claims to be aiming for (How for tranny kids to deal with non tranny kids who say hurtful comments), even if it ended with a dumb "I am sorry I made fun of your girl penis and hurt your feelings" and then they go and play tag or something but only full indoctrination will do I guess!

Sophie's real audience is similar condescending transtenders who just want to feel better than everyone. If we're sympathizing with Raquel, it's definitely not Billie's intent. The reader is supposed to think she's insufferable, ignorant, and mean.

Can you just edit the whole comic to be like this from now on? It's actually pretty good this way.

Trans characters, autistic characters, etc. can be the stars of a good story, just by virtue of being an underdog via the everyday struggles of being trans, autistic, etc., and as long as it's decently written. The problem with AM is that Stephie never actually faces any of those real struggles. Another kid undermines her girlness - realistic and underdog-making - but then the other kids stand with her and ostricize the other kid? It's not as realistic, but not impossible, but it also removes the adversity of the situation. Her struggles with being "outed" are artificial, since people already know all about her. Her mother is fully supportive. Her father - the worst thing in her life apparently - at least tries to get it. What about being bullied and harassed, and disowned by your own parents and forced out into the streets where religion-based charities won't help queer freakshows so they have to become an underage prostitue to survive (surprisingly common)? I mean it doesn't have to get that deep, but you have to put something there to struggle against. That's just the basics of writing. Conflict. Stephie has none, outside of the conflict she creates with her aggression towards anyone who doesn't completely understand trans issues. So the star character is unsympathetic and there is no real story. It's a platform to talk at people from.

Labelle is definitely a separatist, and he supports other separatist movements as well. On his tour schedules, he will write that he is going to Catalonia or the Basque Country instead of simply Spain—I believe he confirmed that this was intentional at some point.

I won't say that it was a necessarily a good or noble thing for him to run for a legislative position, despite having no political experience, on a relatively new single-issue political party in a country with a multi-party system running on a platform that is already present in other Quebec parties, but at least he was getting out of the house and doing something unrelated to trannies in those days.
