These are Facebook wine moms who use their real name. Infosec is just a funny sounding word to them. They don't understand the very basics of the internet.

This decent into lolcowdom by rackets is honestly sad. I really only started listening to him during the Rittenhouse trial and I found him affable. His shows made good background for the most part. I think the late nights + alcohol + his propensity for drugs has rotted his brain. The dude needs an intervention, but I'm not sure if he has irl friends and his orbiters are enablers.

Karl's a ride-or-die Masterson loyalist (he's even still tight with Riley, Mint, and Digi), and claims to like Nick IRL, so there's no way he's diving into this mess. That said, Nick is very fortunate that the only people following this so far are Farmers.

I don't know what has happened with the case after Michael was found. But I do remember that Nick was strongly on Michael's side in the whole thing, and so all these allegations from ArtTheClown that Michael and Elissa are pedos is really bizarre, and I'm glad Nick told him to knock that shit off in locals yesterday.

Some clarifications from what I remember of it.

Sophie alleged the fiance of Kelly, Jacob Wayne Bellington, had at the very least touched Sophie inappropriately, and there was an allegation that others may have been involved (I remember others being alleged to be involved, but not who these others were), and that Kelly either knew or had watched (details are fuzzy on that one, but I remember for sure Kelly was alleged to have figured into it in a negative way), according to Sophie, allegedly.

This is what the video of her refusing to go with Kelly is in reference to.

What makes this hard to write off is what also happened, I want to say prior to the video, at least according to Michael.

To my best recollection, Michael had gotten Sophie and their boys back from Kelly, and heard from the kids that the kids had been pressured into consuming some white crystalline powder while in the custody of Jacob's family, don't quote me on this but I think it was the Jacob and a relative of his, or just a relative of Jacob's, I recall "cousin" or "uncle" being thrown around in regards to the source of the white powder but I forget in relation to exactly who on the fiance's side that was. Michael claimed that had noticed the kids eyes were kind of bleary and bloodshot when he picked them up, so upon hearing these details he claimed he had a drug test done on them, I remember Sophie's came back positive for something very illegal, I think meth, but don't quote me on the drug, this was a while ago, and I think the boys' tests did too, but I'm less sure about that.

There's only so many powders it could be and this was a white trash tragedy so it fits.

Allegedly.

The following I am far less certain of, but are impressions I remember from watching Nick's show at the time.

I want to say I heard that Jacob got popped for something else child or spouse related and bad in the interim while Michael was fled, but that didn't have an impact on whether or not Michael had "abducted" the child so shit was all fucked by the time it dropped off my radar. IIRC Sophie ended up in the custody of the state since by the time she came back Kelly finally wasn't considered a fit parent either by way of her actions with Jacob, but that's also well into the vague haze of memory.

Aaaaaaallegedly.

All this to say the Art stuff worries me the most, because it seems indicative of what Nick's audience is becoming. Art in chat instantly snapping to making VERY tenuous pedo claims based on being on the VERY hard to justify side of Sophie drama, all because some stupid wife-related drama? Really? That's your audience?

If Nick has legit mask off psychos like Art in the chat and he's not working to fix that with extreme prejudice, that's a big issue, and there's a good chance that will be a harder to fix issue long-term than the degeneracy stuff. These are the kinds of people that drive NEW people away, it might not be today, but much like Plate was to Ralph*, it will happen. And they might decide to take you down in the process if you turn on them once you realize just how bad-a-news they are.

I don't envy that position, assuming he's aware that he's in it.

*(yes I'm aware Ralph was egging Plate on much more explicitly than Nick is with these crazies)
