Given that, the ambivalence to the reveal isn't that surprising.

This had benefits and drawbacks. The benefit was the creative freedom to make whatever they wanted and retain audience interest by whatever means necessary. The drawback being the detachment, insularity and not least of all freedom to be lazy leading to an inability to draw new followers from people disaffected with mainstream culture. As a consequence, weird adult fetus and perennial henchman Ryan Kinel gets 109K views for a 7 minute clickbait about Mags Visaggio whereas the Funky Frogman himself nets a measly 13k for a winding 4 hour livestream on the same subject. Which should be his wheelhouse.

Richard "Reek" Meyer has chosen to become a non-entity inside Comicsgate long before the release of his porno. While within the comics industry community as a whole this reveal has transitioned Meyer from pariah to straight-up lolcow, said change doesn't really have an effect inside these walled-off groups. And vice versa.

We've seen multiple examples of other people taking a similar course of action to Zack and your reaction has been fairly consistent. Why does Zack seem to be an exception to this reaction?
This is not a gotcha, I'm not asking in bad faith, there's no wrong answer. I'm genuinely curious, as are several other people here.

It's being used as a variant cover! I think it sold somewhere around 1200 copies. I agree, it's amazing work from Kelsey Shannon. I hesitated because there's no motorcycle in the book. It felt like false advertising, but I think people get that it's kind of a "fantasy" cover.

Because I value Zack and don't value someone like Smiller or Doug, or whoever else. He'll always get respect from me for being the guy that brought us all together. ComicsGate wouldn't exist without him, and that's important to me. I'm doing what I want to do now in no small part because of Zack.

Plus, I always understood that Zack was eccentric in numerous ways. I learned to expect absolutely nothing from him except a laugh now and then, and an occasional good idea.

As it stands, I used to speak to him daily, and haven't spoken to him in months. Things move forward without him.

Anna missed last week's JACK Show to presumably play Elden Ring or travel or have the flu. Also, as per a prior stream, she's apparently not going to Tampa or wherever the big meetup is going to be this year. Too close to Anime Matsuri. She should just quit at this point. Take Cecil. Move-on from CG and allow it to cut-bait (pun intended) on SimpCast, that clique, and it's ethos.

Dong's mention of pinched-face edgemaster Ryan Kinel has also reminded me to briefly circle-back on something I posted a week or so ago re: G+G and their likely response to their big negro dying. They did mention it on last Tuesday's Main Event right off the bat and they did a fine and tasteful job, completely subverting my expectations that follow from when they mourned Batman voice actor Kevin Conroy by turning it into a brand placement opportunity. Apparently, this improved eulogy was mostly on account of Jeremy Griggs putting it in the hands of one of the girl producers, the Thulsa Doom looking one, the Mexican girl who looks like Grimace, what's-her-face. You know the one. She did a good job, though. Edited her little chili pepper heart out.

YellowFlash abruptly canceled this weekend's FlashCast, in what was going to be the final show of the stream in it's current form and was set to feature Gary "I'll blacklist you if you don't kiss my ass" Bechler, Beeker, Beacher, - Nerdrotic. This, coming on the heels of YellowFlash embarrassing himself with a furious drunken battle of wills with annoying, spectrum-y 32-yo homosexual Lofti Pixels and CG's own RenieDraws on New Year's Eve. Not sure if I'd characterize this as a tour de remorse or if the flurry of videos he's put out are merely a function of needing no Saturday show prep, but the flakiness is not helpful to his cause. This smacks of Gary and Flash putting their middle-aged "no drama" heads together and deciding to pussy out and fleeing from potentially awkward SuperChats. I believe this to be a flawed strategy as it's allowed Lofti of all people to monopolize the smug energy and this game is a game of smug energy, make no mistake. It also reinforces the perception that YellowFlash just can't control his own streams, or himself.

So, 2 or 1 until next month, Flash? How about just say you're on hiatus and keep us posted.

Not sure if it was posted prior or not, but here is the stream in question featuring CG's sweetheart RenieDraws (referred to rather embarrassingly by YellowFlash as "Renée" off-and-on for the entire nearly 7-hour New Years Eve stream). For Rekieta fans there is a nice baldo discussion at 04:30:30, at which point Renée is clearly impaired, but the drama doesn't happen until the touchy subject of relationships come up, Flash and Renée recount their personal experiences, and Lofti starts trying to have his own conversation (04:56:30) and debate-me-bro with Flash which he finally bites on at 05:06:00

Personally, I like Flash. I like his live streams. Many of CG including @FROG, Anna TSWG, Renie, and Cecil appear there regularly making FlashCast one of the best crossover venues. I also hate his videos. They're not great and he has this habit of placing vexing imagery in his subs' YouTube feeds that smack of trolling (but aren't). The entire point is that no one wants to see this shit, not that we all want to see this shit. Or am I wrong?
