works for me, but then I never watched her, which might be it. change reeeeeeeeee...
for example not a fan of lumi's new model. while it's still pretty close and not a major diversion like nu-irys, I kinda miss the cheeky smugness her old model had.

hesitant to call them "generic" since I assume a lot of effort when into them, but feels they simply lost something (and everyone suddenly having vampire teeth doesn't help either, least in irys' case the lore fits somewhat). maybe it's really just being too used to the old model and the need to adapt, but then I think there's a reason people stuck with them over other vtubers - not saying it's the model alone, but it's an important aspect, otherwise there was no need to change it in the first place.

Irys' change was alright to me. Lumi's on the other hand i don't get, what was wrong with the old one? Was it an issue over moving to Phase from their old corpo?

I assume options, iirc new one was from a different artist. dunno if she couldn't get the old one for more stuff or there's some unspoken rule about other artists' work.
or simply while paying a new artist/rigger for stuff might as well get a new model alongside it, like a change of clothes.

Lumis new model wouldn't suck as bad if not for the awful Veibei face. I liked her weird "drowsy but smug" look on the old face. I doubt cyberlive has anything to do with it. Neonbeat is just lazy and copy pasted Veibaes face on Lumis model. I hope Fishman doesn't have any rules limiting Lumi or other talents to only using their new models.

Oh, you don't know, huh? Well, let me enlighten you. Prior to becoming Melody, she was the camgirl Mars Mayhem. Yes, Melody was a full on camgirl before becoming a virtual cam girl. She has a Pornhub account, which is still up and freely viewable (since I'm not sure how dear leader will react and this thread is already under massive scrutiny, I won't directly link to it since, you know, Pornhub, but you can find it easily if you just search for her name). And yes, that means that her roommate account and her Vtuber account coexisted on the same porn site at the same time. Her Pornhub page primarily has short prerecorded videos, which, interestingly, show her giving blowjobs to (and in at least one vid, straight up fucking) some mystery man. If you watch these vids, you'll hear her natural voice, and it is noticeably deeper than her Melody voice. If you want to hear her use the higher pitch Mel voice, you have to watch some of her recorded cam girl streams. None on pornhub, but they are posted all over the internet under her name (which is sometimes spelled MarsMayhem). In particular, go to any sites that specialize in reposting cam girl content (The Porn Dude is your friend here). So her face (and tits, and vag, and ass...) are all over the internet already.
