There's been a lot of questioning as to why Salad didn't and apparently DOESN'T grasp the true nature of The Gunt, particularly considering her glut of YouTube videos showing exactly who she is. But isn't Salad's grasp of English fairly minimal? Like, obviously he has more skills with English than Chantal does with Arabic, but it seems very plausible that when presented with HUNDREDS of hour-plus videos of his new Chins-to-be he was both overwhelmed and not actually skilled enough to understand a lot of them. He'd need to be able to quickly read the chat and also listen to her for many of them and that's tough when you're processing a different language. And considering how short a time he knew her before becoming Mr. Salad-Chins, it's actually possible that it wouldn't have been physically possible for him to to watch all her videos before meeting her - particularly if he had a job and a life before becoming the Salacious Crumb to her Jabba.

And so he probably, very naively, asked her which ones to watch, and she presented a highly catered menu of videos of Chantal Marie on her best behavior.

If he tried to watch Naddy's streams about her, he prob couldn't understand Nader or Deedee because they're both speaking shit English with accents - making it harder to understand for a non-native English speaker. Hell, even as a native speaker I can't understand that mumble-mouthed, snaggletooth rapist half the time.

At any rate, I'm not disagreeing that Salad's dumb as fuck, but also that he's naive as a newborn compared to Chins, and really who the hell has the time to watch all the videos she had before she purged so many?

Let's not pull the Chantal excuse of "oh, his English isn't that good." You don't need to be a level 9000 Chantal historian with 1/10th of an Honours English degree to figure out she's a lying pig with the reputation to prove it, mere minutes of the thousands of available video clips here and on youtube would quickly demonstrate that even for the most naive of observers.

It would have taken him 60 seconds to Google her and run it through translation if needed. Salah probably did not sit there obsessing over her videos as we do, and without cultural context, might have assumed she was some sort of comedian, which is a claim she herself has made. Plus, she memory-holed 1100 of her most egregious videos, more than two thirds of her lifetime output.

Kiwifarms and reactor channels are just haters; all the biggest YouTube stars have 'em. It's just the price of fame; people are jealous.

She would have probably spun it as she is a performer of sorts, and her videos are performance. Not real. And with 90,000 subscribes, it is not unusual to have 80,000 haters. As she herself has said, it's really just the same three guys with sock puppets. Pewdiepie is famous too; look how many haters he has!

I can see him accepting that at face value; Alaa has strongly hinted that Salah is rather thick. Wishful thinking might be making him overlook certain things too; if she can give him lots of money and maybe even get him out of Kuwait, he'll be happy. He can always ditch her once he gets there, or so he may be thinking.

After a couple of months of subterfuge, Chantal's reality and motivations have been exposed fairly thoroughly by Alaa; his story is the only story that makes sense. He has been a lot less forthcoming about Salah; Salah's true motivations remain murky. But money and travel seem to be part of them, and he apparently did believe she was getting rich from YouTube. I have a hard time believing he is a completely gullible dupe (which makes Chantal the scammer in all this, which she probably is). Even simpletons have their own best interests at heart, and he obviously saw some benefit to himself from this tawdry affair. It is possible he is waking up to the reality, but may forge onward stoically to save face.

I don't like giving this stuff too much thought, because it really gives me headaches and it is frustrating that nothing she ever says adds up to anything coherent. But I think the picture is becoming a lot clearer now, at least in regards to what she is up to. As for Salah, if he doesn't have ulterior motives, then he truly is a Peetz-level moron. There are one of two things at play here on why Salah tolerates Chantal's nastiness and they both have the same set-up, imo:

1. He knew from the start she was nasty. He watched every video. He knew how she acted, but he also saw how much money she spent on Nader and really didn't ask much in return except chill, get fed, and the ability to parade around a boy that was so interested in her. Even as a dumb fuck, he saw her as an easy mark to bilk out of a lot money and it was all temporary, as she'd eventually move back to Canada - on top of that, he saw how successful Nader's YT channel became and maybe he could see a similar channel blow up. It's possible they even agreed that he could take the couples channel over when she goes back to Canada. Now he can even keep things up long-distance and maybe she'd send him money. Cha-ching.

I haven't watched every video he has been in, because it's boring, but I did watch one in the beginning and I remember two things during that stream- 1. He didn't know about her cat voice or her stupid "chubbyoise" or whatever she says and 2. He didn't know about box mountain or why people kept talking about it.

Chantal had to explain both of these to him. Two things that were shown over and over in many videos and streams.

I'm sure there is more than these two examples, but these are the two I remember. Anyone who watches or even knows about her, would probably know about those two things. I think she did the same with him as she did with Nader. Told him how much she made, and he saw dollar signs, not love signs, in his eyes. The fact he received almost 10k the first days he met her in person is enough proof.

After she leaves this month I doubt these two will ever see each other again.
