It’s basically a story-based adventure. Meaning: no classes outside of the main story. Majority is playing outside of the school.
I was hoping for a school simulator with a story (of course) but it’s nothing compared to what I would’ve wanted. Btw, never read any HP book or watched any movie, not my thing. This game looked interesting even to me, a wizard „Bully“.
It still might be good depending what people will say when it releases. Just again proven right to not preorder any game whatsoever.

to be fair, there is a slim chance you might get something like it. at least the chances are higher now. if it sells, all the assets are made. retooling logic is much easier, maybe have to record some more voicelines, but any smart company able to read the signs would try to exploit that and quickly push something to bank on the hype.

You can properly explore the castle, attend lessons etc. like most HP games but this version of Hogwarts is apparently a ton more detailed and dense compared to most other versions we've seen/played through.

I took my first actual look at this game today. It wouldn't have even been on my mind as I'm neither much of a gamer nor into Harry Potter (I've seen the main movies, read a few of the books back in the day).

Well I'll be but it actually looks like a pretty good game. I watched a big gameplay demo and it not only looked fun but looks like they actually put some depth into the game as well. Bonus, I can buy it without shovelling more money into Steam's bottomless maw.

This is going to be an inverse of the debacle with the all-girl Ghostbusters movie in which SJW types felt compelled to continue defending it even after it became obvious to all that it was terrible. This time they'll desperately try to get people NOT to buy it, even though it's good.

Honestly hope it does well as now that all the assets are made it looks like something they could continue to add to quite nicely.
