In some fun news, the testing booths that littered the cities are going up for sale on Xianyü, or salt-fish, the used-goods app everyone knows and loves. If you're ever in China, it's the place to buy tickets to events, The sellers would have to be local subdistrict and street committees in my guess, but who knows the tortured chain of ownership for these, and it's probably quite variable from place to place. What if, in fact, 2022 was a coup by 'scientists' and 'experts' and now, Xi's heroic chink chud countercoup in late November may just save China.

Based on the fact that literally everyone I know has caught covid and has symptoms, and that the government said omicron had an 80-90% asymptomatic rate based on their 'experience' doing billions of tests, I'd wager the tests were completely fake, China never sequenced covid, and has no ability to perform PCR tests. It's unlikely the WIV did any research at all, and was a mostly empty building that employed bao'an and some nurses who were playing around with little kid 'science kits' they sell in walmart, then were issued backdated PhDs when shit appeared to hit the fan. The scientific papers were generated by GPT, which is indistinguishable from the speech of the Chinese. The virus itself does not exist as they say it does, and it's just a flu.

CCP still uses the health code app to attempt to shut down protests and advertise that Omicron and other variants are deadly as OG strain.
Which it isn't average influenza induced pneumonia has higher kill count than Omicron.
Simply living in CCPland has higher death rate with their shit Healthcare heavy water and air pollution.

Taliban and China firm agree Afghanistan oil extraction deal​

Afghanistan's Taliban government is to sign a contract with a Chinese firm to drill for oil in the country's north.
It would be first major energy extraction agreement with a foreign firm since the Taliban took control of Afghanistan in 2021.

The 25-year deal underscores China's economic involvement in the region.
On Thursday Taliban officials said security forces had targeted Islamic State group militants who attacked a hotel used by Chinese businessmen.

Eight IS militants were killed and several more arrested, the Taliban said.
December's attack on the Longan Hotel in Kabul saw at least three people killed and 18 more injured, including five Chinese citizens.

The oil extraction agreement would see Xinjiang Central Asia Petroleum and Gas Company (CAPEIC) drilling for oil in the Amu Darya basin, Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid said.
"The Amu Darya oil contract is an important project between China and Afghanistan," China's ambassador to Afghanistan Wang Yu told a news conference in the capital Kabul.

A Chinese state-owned company is also in talks over the operation of a copper mine in the east of the country.

Afghanistan is estimated to be sitting on natural resources - including natural gas, copper and rare earths - worth more than $1tn.

However, much of those reserves remain untapped due to decades of turmoil in the country.
Beijing has not formally recognised Afghanistan's Taliban administration but it has significant interests in the country, which is at the centre of a region important to China's Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

Launched by Xi Jinping in 2013, the BRI provides financing for emerging countries to build infrastructure like ports, roads and bridges.

The clips are haunting my Youtube recommended feed so I watched a few. I also went to his channel and watched a bunch of his videos.

He's delivering good American feels in the form of speculation with a novel approach. But its really just repackaged US exceptionalism: "Everyone else is going to be worse off than America (ie, Russia/China) in 10 years". "America will be unscathed because America has everything". "Everyone else is lying about their data except America". "The US military is as infallable as ever" (he does go into full sperg about Ukraine and Russia=bad).

I think he's a very balanced Globalist shill, Warpig and GlowOp all in one. My bet is he wants to sit on committees, get paid by various think tanks and lobbys to push a new genre of "it may be bad in America but everyone else has it badder so America wins" propaganda.

Many Americans feel very good about what he is saying and that it "sounds like its correct". Sort of the first clue he's full of shit.

Also he's a vax lover so since everything he says is from the standpoint of a data enthusiast and vaccine kinship, how does he feel about the vaccine and what the data is beginning to indicate? Still in love.

Yeah, he suddenly turned up on my feed as well, about two weeks ago. I feel like he's being astroturfed a little, because the way his vids started showing up didn't feel remotely organic.

The reason people tend to listen to him is because a lot of what he says feels solid at first blush. He starts from valid basic premises, but then extrapolates into weird directions and spins a story that, as you say, feeds a narrative of American exceptionalism. He also loves to push the idea that New Zealand, of all places, is going to be one of the "survivor" countries while everything else collapses. Alongside all the schizoposting I've seen in various places, about the great and good decamping to NZ to ride out the end of the world, it feels weird that he'd single it out like that.

I used to watch Peter Zaihan's youtube channel. He falls into that category of future predicters that majored in political science or international relations. He has too much of a bias towards the US system being able to survive while all others will supposedly fail. Take what he says with a grain of salt. There is a whole class of these "future predictors" going back a hundred years constantly failing to predict the future.

Used to watch some Zeihan stuff back before he really uploaded much to YouTube, and other people just reupped recordings of his presentations.
The reason he's popped up all of a sudden is Ukraine. In one of his books he said "Russia has UNTIL 2022 to invade Ukraine before it is no longer possible due to bad demographics". And what do you know, 2022 happened to be the year, so suddenly everyone wants to interview the man who "predicted" Ukraine. Man managed to do like 180 Interviews/Presentations throughout 2022 so he definitely knows how to get around.
I wouldn't completely discount the data Zeihan presents, and credit to him or not, he's still saying the same thing he was like a decade ago. You can go back to 2014 and watch videos of him basically saying the same general narrative he says now, although he does shift his deadlines when the ones he postulates fail to be hit.
There's a vintage clip of him on Fox News back in like 2011 claiming that Greece was doomed to crash out of the Eurozone back in the day which is just a general reminder, use Zeihan as an analytical tool, not a roadmap. Plenty of areas where he's been wrong. God help you if you think his American politics opinions are meritable.

What I feel is important about Zeihan now is probably that this is what US intelligencia is going to think about the world going forward, especially seeing as he's contracting for the DOD.

It'd be really interesting to see someone who's actively followed his work really press him during an interview beyond the usual discussion baseline. (I'd also really like to see where he gets his production costs figures for greentech)

Now back on topic to the Chyna stuff, Haven't watched the JRE interview but if you've seen 5 or so Zeihan Interviews you've seen most of them.

Zeihan generally talks about Chinese demographics under the recent Chinese census which was carried out in 2021 that we still have parts missing would argue that there are somewhere between 40-100M missing Chinese that would have been born post One-Child. There is still debate in Chinese academics as to how many this is, but apparently the rate at which the cost of Chinese labour has been rising would argue that it is closer to the 100M.
Now that's a lot of fucking people and would throw the global population back under 8B, but back to the census the data would argue that China is likely already in population decline. Considering that study based on how bright a nation's lights are from space can be equated to their GDP, and China is apparently only 60% as bright as it should be, It's likely that China has likely exaggerated a couple of aspects about itself.
That being said I've heard decent arguments against Zeihans narrative that China's navy cannot sail more than 1000 miles from shore, ones that I would like to research myself when I have the time.

In conclusion, Fuck.
