BUT NOT MONEY. You JUST highlighted the problem with that whole thing.
Like a lot of people here have already pointed out, I don't know why you even bother standing up for the guy since he shits on you, and shits on everybody that supported him financially.
Riddle me this, FROG: When you are making love to your wife, do you bring her to the point of orgasm but then pull out and say "it's my time and energy and life." I imagine she'd be pretty pissed, wouldn't she? You created an expectation, and then failed to fulfill that expectation.
I would actually have more respect for Richard if he had pursued the lawsuit and lost.
Your feels are your own, but don't be shocked if other people aren't as enthused as you to carry a torch for Saint Zack.
He was 100% wrong for quitting the Waid suit. I told him then that it would spell disaster for his career in Comics let alone ComicsGate. It was the worst possible decision, like deliberately crashing your plane.
And I agree. He should have seen it through, even if he lost.
I'm only explaining what happened then from my perspective for the sake of history. I'm not standing up for him at all.
Well, that could be what his lawyers were telling him. If that's not what his lawyers were telling him, then shame on Zack for not following his counsel.
Not being a lawyer myself, it sure does sound like cope, especially if he still had some of his war chest to work with.
He never told me what his lawyers were telling him, and there's likely more to this situation than we know. But it's odd that they'd lead him along for a year and a half into a suit only to counsel him that it's hopeless and he should quit. Does that make sense? Even if they thought it was a loser case, why not continue to milk it for more cash?
But then again, he didn't have much money left as we now know. From my perspective back then, I wasn't anxious to ask for more cash, but I think we could have raised another $50,000 or so, had Zack asked. Maintaining enthusiasm for the lawsuit was easy at first, but these things drag out, and when there's no quick dopamine pay off with any kind of win, people lose interest in contributing to it.
I'm a year and a half into this lawsuit with Poulter, and just recently counter sued him, and it's expensive and time consuming. I've learned a lot of lessons from watching Zack's failure, though.
It's easy to be disappointed (and I certainly am), but I also understand just how stressful lawsuits can be, and Zack has struck me as somebody who suffers from anxiety, so I'm sure it was torture for him. I can forgive him this failing, because I might have failed the same way in his shoes.
But it sure is disappointing, and Zack does seem to have lost his edge since then.
There's a little more to Zack's gradual change. We found out this SJW from Twitter that we used to fight with committed suicide. He was one of Renfamous' group. Aaron Alverez.
Zack began to see all of these comics creators as fragile and perhaps suicidal. He started deleting a bunch of provocative videos. He just saw everyone as mentally ill and on the edge, and he didn't want to push them.
God damn was all of that frustrating.
Your Boi Zack quit the lawsuit and caring about comics by hiring Narwal. Lets continue to roominate on things that happened years ago what is evil Warcampaign doing to deflect criticism? what is dirty doug doing to gay op CG? what is Nasser doing with cherries to subvert CG? lets talk about things that happened years ago to avoid criticism of today. member edwin, member, ryzie lee killing anna's sister, member thing, member stuff. don't member late books.
I'd probably have a tougher time in life if all of my haters weren't as stupid as you seem to be.
Fortunately...
