Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

Holy hell what is this Voice Acting? Velma really sounds like she's not giving it her all (especially the first second or two of that clip, good god) and Norville is just kinda... okay. God are more of the casts like this?
Pretty much. Fred is okay in terms of voice, but only because they wrote Fred as a whiny hyper spoiled rich man-baby, and the guy voicing him is the guy who plays Dennis on Always Sunny, so he at least fits the character written.

Even though the character written is in no way Fred.

If true, I can't wait for the shitstorm to reach Category 5 levels :story:

They made the dog into a black girl, they made the one character who is supposed to be obedient and listen to the master into a black girl.

I think this got a comedy central cartoon cancelled. It was a show about two dogs, and they make a visual gag where a black woman sleeps and acts like a dog in one episode, and it didnt go over well.
That was like 15 years ago so God only knows what'll happen now.

I really hope her name actually is Scoobi and they dub over her name after the backlash.

You know I can't say for certain but I think a lot of the meta humor in Velma was inspired by scream. except scream knew how to use meta humor balanced with horror.
huh well dragon ball evolution was so bad that it's why Akira Toriyama rebooted the franchise with god war and super....HB are dead so they can't do the same but at least that means maybe somebody might be willing to make a scooby doo truer to the original someday...right? right?

Diessel Patches is back!
Now I'm curious if this will bring digby the goat out of retirement. not counting on it though it's more likley to get the attention of huntlich or mrenter or ls mark before it brings him back. (mark has made a community post on it)

Anyways been rewatching a lot of the old Hanna Barbera repertoire. (thank you kiss cartoon) and for as cheap and corny as they were for a majority of their career. The shows they made seem almost quaint and charming. Especially when compared to the bullshit that's been made since they passed. Velma, Jellystone, pretty much every live action movie then when that well dried up, scoob. All those were made seemingly with the mindset of hating the source material or just not getting what made Bill and Joe tick.

*sigh*

As one of their characters would say... "they get NO respect!"

False alarm, character’s name is Gigi, not Scoobi.

Not that the show deserved the benefit of the doubt.
If they did get permission to bring Scooby into this shit show what are the chances he'll be some rabid foaming at the mouth mad dog? I'd make a comparison to the venture brothers version which was a stand in for the dog that david berkowitz claimed told him to kill people but...no that was actually a good parody/ mature version of Scooby that actually worked.

Velma’s going to adopt/save a puppy at the end of the series. That’ll be Scooby, because the show has to make Velma responsible for everything.

Now you know how I feel.

Reminded Bill and Joe made these shorts almost 30 years ago. They still hold up well.

Upper Echelon weighs in on this terrible show.
Probably the most enjoyment I'll ever get out of this horrible show is watching someone else dissect it.

Honestly, this show is so bad that if the Nostalgia Critic did a review of it without skits, I'd watch it and consider going back to watching his reviews regularly. This is the Hollywood version of NC's The Wall review.
