I mean batman ninja was stupid but enjoyably stupid. (And had the benefit of being based on a formerly Japan only batman story of the same name iircc) it took the idea of batman amd his rouges getting sent to fedual Japan and rolled with it.


Plus it it didn't try to preach some woke bs about how "amazing and beautiful Japan was before evil white westerners made them ashamed of their culture and tried to westernize the land of the rising sun."


This looks like it's gonna be contrived as all hell just to let some spic beaner whine the beaner equivalent of "we wuz kangs n sheet!" Bonus points if it jumps to modern Gotham at some point in either the start or ending to show Bruce being the white savior to some spic immigrants against ice agents.
 
Batman Ninja (or any other Elseworld) didn't have Bats protect the literal human sacrifice fanatics. I like how the Joker is a fellow human sacrifice cultist who happens to be evil unlike Bats because screw you.

Western animation has no grit anymore. I was watching some old 90s cartoons that actually had interesting plots and actually good writing and something you could enjoy that isn't just retarded comedy like the Owl House. Hell of a boss, American Dad, Rick and Morty. It's weird how in the 90s. American animation was going the same direction as Japan. When it comes to more serious subjects and more complicated stories. But the Western European animation will never catch on. I mean, there's some French animation that goes in that direction.
 
Don't mind me bitching and moanin, but it still makes me unironically sad that we never got that Batman Beyond animated movie that was originally pitched by the people who made Spiderverse. The film would have for sure done well if Gunn wasn't so busy being retardedbatman_beyond.webp
