Great thread.

A while ago... on Tumblr, a blogger made a 'callout post' for one of Tumblr's staff members for basically, literally "just still liking Hairy Pooter". Then that blogger got banned from tumblr for inciting harassment against a staff-member, and a bunch of tumbloggers basically shit themselves because they think it proves that "TUMBLR'S STAFFED BY TERFS!"

I wrote a rambling (& kind of annoying) post documenting this random incident.

Remember, ladies, you aren't allowed to have your own interests.
You're only supposed to have the kinds of interests that 'the it crowd' tells you is cool....

Wait, what was all that about being unique and 'not like other girls', and all that shit?
I thought 'standing out from the crowd' was a point of pride for tumblr girls.
I thought standing bravely in the face of opposition was something they all jerk themselves off to, imagining...

The interesting thing about J.K. Rowling Derangement Syndrome is that unlike Trump Derangement Syndrome or Ye/Kanye Derangement Syndrome, most of the people that dislike this author are the terminally young adults that never grew past childhood.

There are many childhood books that have taught more valuable life lessons that Harry Potter could ever achieve, but it turns out that that book is just more famous and successful because Hollywood latched onto it very quickly.

If anything, I can describe Rowling Derangement Syndrome with just this one StoneToss picture:

The whole JK Rowling madness may be one of the most significant events bringing the behavior of the modern far left/TRAs out in front of the average public.
I've actively watched people for whom the gender nonsense wasn't even on their radar turn pretty avidly anti-trans in real time just because they caught wind of what they were trying to do to JKR and why.

That's probably a major part of the issue; not only do they like the Harry Potter property because they're perpetual children and are nostalgia fetishists, but on top of it they know pop-culture entities like JRK are very popular among what would ordinarily be their support base.
She has a lot of public goodwill among the non-sociopolitically informed, and if nerdy/artsy girls (a classic group for bullying/grooming into trans fanaticism) see a popular and successful female figure saying no to lefty cancel mobs, then they might acknowledge their own discomfort and say no too, and we can't have that.

Idk, taking particular steps to try to control art and punish artists who don't ideologically walk the line kind of reminds me of some less savory political regimes, but as we all know it's ok it do it when you're a good person and they aren't.
