If you read the articles, you'll see that these were not the only such incidents, but just those where the footage was leaked. Its clear that the trigger was pulled in each case, but suicide is illegal in Pakistan, which is why the articles are claiming the guns "just went off".

The second video made me realise that there is a particular facial expression you make when a bullet destroys your brain, because it's also visible in the well-known Vietnam War video of Nguyễn Văn Lém's summary execution. A pair of shell-shocked & confused Ukrainians are flanked & slaughtered point-blank in their hole. A grenade thrown by the Russian cooks off near them immediately prior to the final push, and there appears to be another dead solder underneath the first two.

Edit: Surprisingly the Russian didn't immediately hose them & risked his life trying to take them captive first, as they weren't completely incapacitated & still had rifles. That grenade going off in their faces didn't help in their fucked up situation, and being flanked like that twisted them up.

They absolutely could've dropped the Russian; but the first quickly figured out what was up & surrendered, yet his battlebuddy got them both killed by trying to retain his rifle, not realising the enemy was in his hole until it was far too late.

He thought that this would raise awareness for the homeless and make people want to help them. His parachute wasn't actually attached to his body and so when he pulled the chord it pulled off of him and he fell to his death. Thankfully someone caught this fucking awesome picture of one of the most hilariously retarded deaths I have ever heard of and one less Californian pollutes this good Earth.
