When did this happen?

Took a bit to dig it up, but Jan 2, 2019.

Matpat plays a game called Heartbound, and clickbaits it as 'WHATT!? UNDERTALE SPINOFF GAME!?!?!' or something like that (can't find the video that sparked it) Edit: Looking into a bit more, I can't find the original because he edited the name of it (at the time 'The NEXT Undertale Game!?) and did what the creator wanted.. Doesn't give any link to the actual game, because, shocker, it has nothing to do with Undertale besides using a red heart as an icon, tangetially related kinda stuff, and if his brainlet fans go look for it, they'll find that out.

Devs flag him on twitter, telling him off for basically conflating their game with Undertale, not linking to it, and even getting their studio wrong. Pat fires back with 'It's not my fault, my underlings make the titles and the thumbnails, I never look at them, and we never link to games, so it's fine.' And continues with that line of reasoning until Toby Fox calls him out for not supporting small devs, and only parasiting off them, at which point, within the hour, he turns around and starts doing what they ask.

Other than the fuck ton of drama videos on the situation, the most I can dig up with a few minutes of half-hearted searching is the original twitter thread:

I'm calling it now, when sans' brother gets revealed it'll be someone entirely different like "Roman" or "Courier" and not Papyrus. Since it looks like whoever's inside his house doesn't seem to want to go out and be the local police force with undyne or whatever of the sorts.

This is also pure speculation on my part, but I kinda wonder if sans is building or "reconstructing" a brother in the world of Deltarune. He calls him his "little brother" in game, and the sound of "trousling bones" gets quieter in the second chapter. So I wonder if that'll lead up to something where sans' brother will be someone who's built (heh) entirely different?

You jest but that's absolutely a problem with the fanbase, it's absolutely infected (then again, the original game did nothing to repel these kinds of people, quite the opposite actually).
Even if Undertale was always somewhat pozzed it's always sad to see other games' fanbases being absolutely infected by these "people". This is what happened to my favourite game, Bug Fables.

I just want to say that the blank faced trannie is grade A game enemy material. You don't need the obviously male face for the uncanny valley feel, the body is wrongly proportioned, the hands are at a mocking fake pose, the dark face only adds to the unsettling feeling

One thing I really hope Toby does once he's either complete or near-complete with the game is for him to go back and touch up on some of the earlier chapters to have more quality-of-life updates to them as the later Chapters release. Like seriously the gameplay improvement between Ch. 1 and 2 is like night and day, I genuinely hope Toby brings over the Mercy Meter when trying to pacify foes among other Ch. 2 improvements.
