Sea sponges in real life reproduce asexually and are intersex, so this isn't the most unreasonable LGBT headcanon I've seen (Well, semi-headcanon because Stephen Spielberg actually confirmed Spongebob to be asexual.)
Also the art is nice to look at quality wise. The artist didn't need to heavily redesign the characters like the other folks showcased on here.

Spielberg? I assume you mean Hillenberg, and I'd wager he was talking in sea biology terms and not in the modern IDPOL idea of human asexuality. Also, it's a kids show and Stephen was one of the few sane cartoonists still trying to keep things properly PG.

It’s been mentioned in this thread before that SpongeBob was included in an official social media post supporting pride month. It’s so vague and only Stephen Hillenberg has ever made official comment on SpongeBob’s “sexuality.” Which really was just a marine biologist joke about how most sponges reproduce asexually due to being hermaphrodites.

In the early plans Sandy was ment to be a Spongebob love intrest but they decided that romantic tension like that wasn't really good fit to the tone of the show. Even with all of the seasons the show has had what? Like three romantic pairings. Plankton has his computer wife witch originally was a joke about him having nobody in his life but Karen grew into an actual character. Mr. Krabs dated Mrs. Puffs. Then in the first movie Patrick had an intense crush on Mindy. Those are the only ones I can think of. I guess Spongebob's parents are together but they are so rarely seen that I don't know if they count.
So yeah. Spongebob is basically asexual just because they didn't feel like adding love into the show. What real seasponges do is basically just a joky excuse for we didn't want that and don't feel like explaining it further. Kids don't care much about romantic subplots either way, especially boys that the show is catered towards.

Brazilian people also appreciate good looking art even while their country is actively having to deal with corruption involving their own country’s politics. They could hardly not care less about North America’s obsession of trying to use “white guilt” onto Brazilian people who just like to pleasing things that look good to the eye.

From what latinos have told me Puss is a Spaniard (obviously) and Kitty Softpaws could be Mexican. Ignorring woke white people south and central americans have always had beef with Spaniards it's rather amusing lol.
It's rather refreshing having Spongebob just want friends. Allegedly a small population of gay men related to Spongebob but his relationship with Patrick or Squidward is just intensely platonic and nothing else clearly lol.

This is not the first time AU versions of Deep Cut were the object of "controversy". As far as I remember, some artist drew Role-Swap AU versions of the characters in which Big Man was the cephalopod whilst Shiver and Frye were drawn as a shark and eel respectively... And yes, it was because Big Man "was no longer big" and "isn't dark enough". The funny part is that he is still taller than the average in-game playable character.
Also people tried to force Big Man to have a "trans headcanon" because he has the corners female Octolings have, but the artist has confirmed that it wasn't intentional. Dude's just an ikemen.

I love the Octoling Big Man a lot and makes me really wish we had an inkling/octoling male idol (which is sexist according to some of the splatoon fans)
I seen the backlash for this fanart back in November so seeing the artist is still making the art despite the backlash is really funny to me
