Not sure if mentioned before but there's this one youtuber called DuckBricks who at first seemed like a really enthusiastic Bionicle and Lego collector who has a big collection of the stuff he likes. Upon further persual of his channel it appears he gets basically every available Lego set that comes out. I was hesitant of posting it here since his behavior isn't completely mindless consoomer you see from others though at this point I think it's worth a mention. He does those cringe "haul videos" too which should be an automatic entry as a consoomer.

LEGOs are a cool toy if you’re a kid.

Heck, I don’t even have a problem with an adult occasionally putting together a set as a hobby.

But fuck… Turning your house into A goddamn temple to Danish plastic bricks goes way beyond any kind of sanity.

Especially when it’s a temple to the SHITTIEST LEGO set that is. Bionicle?!?

The oldest ones were the best, as with most things. They do get shittier. My heart is at the old generation Bionicle.

The pandemic launched used game prices across the board by about 2x-5x their 2019 value, and they were already getting steep even back then.

This is absolutely correct, for normal times, at least. The current hyperinflation situation is making things unpredictable. Will the consoomers have to cut back in order to put food on the table, or will they continue to pour all of their disposable income into overpriced cartridges? It's hard to say, though I think it's a safe bet that everything having to do with escapism will be tossed by the wayside by most if the general state of the world starts going uphill again. But who knows when that'll be.

The 3DS went out of production right before the pandemic started, so every single one got scooped up and prices never came back down.
 
People doing the heckin quirky "x copy of one funny/meme item" thing is peak retard consumer behavior. Like cool you got the updoots and RTs, now time to store 50 vhs copies of Godzilla/Shrek GameCube game/etc

My older cousins and uncles used to do this to me and it was deliberate humilliation tactic, they just thought it was the funniest. One birthday they promise to take me out for a surprise, i got to watch them enter a video game store, buy a newly released ps2s with a hunch of games, controllers, etc but it was for themselves. Then with bags full of a few thousands of dollars of electronics they bought me a single cupcake with a candle on it and sent me back home.

Cool thing to do to a 12 yr old kid whose parent just died and is struggling to survive in the middle of economic crisis in Venezuela. That was my aunt's idea.

At least i learned a lesson about those kinds of people early.
 
I'm currently struggling with a retarded DVD consoomer. By retarded, I mean this guy has a confirmed low IQ and the mind of a child. He is constantly harassing people for DVDs he breaks at the drop of a hat. I've managed to calm it down somewhat by convincing him that there's a worldwide DVD shortage due to all the materials being used for the war in Ukraine.

I personally would find a thrift store that sells DVDs for 25 or 50 cents and act as if that is the only moral option for acquiring DVDs and that buying them new/full-priced is akin to slaughtering a beautiful fox to make a coin purse. I mean, that material shortage in Ukraine, right?
And avoid taking him to any grocery store like Walmart that has a DVD section. "If you're really good we'll go to the thrift store and you can buy, like four DVDs, serious. We can only go two or three times a month- are you really going to steal all the DVDs from the poor DVD-loving children who can't get any at all if the thrift store doesn't have enough in stock?"

Bless you kiwi- I know trying to change the behaviors of people who use retard logic is an arduous project unto itself, and some people won't get what you have to do to make it all work.
