You’re ALWAYS going to take a contract at less than you would make if you kept all your cash. There’s a thing called overhead, companies can’t sell at cost and continue to exist.

You take the contract like an insurance policy. A discount for GUARANTEED income, because you’re divesting the risk

The problem is they want his safety net he has in case he did get demonetized or cancelled and then want to penalize him on top of it.

Just because he vaguely planned to do something to cast him self as an outsider doesn't mean he didn't link DW to it at the last minute when they hurt his fees and he decided it was time to spew venom at them in a histrionic homo rage.

He suffered essentially a narcissistic injury, and the more they try and say "oy vey Steven, don't take it personal - you should know our first offer sheet is going to be the most sematic thing possible" the more it wounds him because he isn't getting the special treatment every theater kid knows they deserve.

He IS demonetized and cancelled. Why else would he NEED to keep signing with companies instead of keeping his own mug club bucks?

It’s like your missing the point, the offer was FOR the mug club and potential of getting people to sign up for Daily Wire.

He doesn’t make money directly from social media other than like, Rumble. So the reason he would sign a contract would be so that Daily Wire will cut him a check for a million dollars a month and handle the shit he doesn’t want to handle

You're probably right that it was cooking for a while then, but I guess to me it still feels more like something that is motivated on Crowder's part by (unreasonably, IMO) feeling personally insulted, rather than some Machiavellian long term plan to cut DW's throat.

The “insult” was an offer, the term sheet he categorically rejected and refused to make a counter offer to, back in October, though.

The whole thing is shockingly unprofessional on Crowder's part. It's going to hurt his ability to make deals going forward, IMO. People swap these offer/term sheets with an expectation that they will be kept quiet, if not down right confidential. Nobody want's a public sperg out over their initial offer, and that's going to make it pretty hard to even get those initial offers in the future.

I understand Crowder on saying that it is bullshit that the initial offer included shit about being monetized on Youtube when they clearly knew who they were talking to. That sounds like a lack of care, but from what JB said, it was just some shit they through together to get negotiations started because Crowder's manager went on diva mode and didn't make any initial demands.

"Just take my model and scale it" is sort of hard to swallow because "then fucking do it" which might be what he ends up doing.

I do think the wage slaves comment is bullshit if you are referring to your own talent, but at the end of the day it's just words.

Say whatever you want but I will stick to my assertion that Crowder's manager might have played a big part on all this gay shit coming out and being so retarded. Why not make some demands straight up? You know that the guy you are working for HAS some very specific way he likes to work and like things done.
